Northern Light
Superstar
This was a heart-breaker for the Greens:
The Star is reporting 45% which is still abysmal but up 1% from 2022
Yes, very disappointing. The Green Party's provincial popular vote also dropped by a percent compared to 2022. I wonder if it's time for Mike Schreiner to move on? He's been leader since 2009.
Concerns over declining Health Care has been a consistent issue that people have been complaining about for the last decade. This is especially true regarding the significant wait list for Family Doctors. As far as big ticket issues to raise issue with, the liberals could've chosen FAR worse. The bigger issue I have was simply how realistic their proposal was. Right now the biggest issue with increasing the number of Family Doctors is how insanely whiny Med Schools have been regarding increasing capacity/enrollment. Ford tried to entice more doctors into the field, and all of the med schools threw a fit.Not sure who the Liberals campaign manager was, but they need to fire them into the sun. Just totally out of place in a 2025 world. Topics that have been dominating conversations last few fears : Housing affordability...traffic congestion...inflation....jobs. Liberals: "Family Doctors!"
Why? The OLP improved their share of the popular vote substantially, it was just inefficient. In 4 years they will be in a very strong position to defeat the PCs.I wonder if this will force the NDP and OLP to consider a merge.
With a seatless OLP leader and vote splitting on the left something has got to give.

Are you looking for Marxists? The Liberals are not “Left.” The NDP aren’t all that left either.

When I saw the ads that 2.5 million (out of 16 million) Ontarians do not have a family doctor, my immediate thought was, 84% of us have a family doctor. That’s doesn’t sound so bad - if 84% of Ontarians had affordable housing we’d be over the moon. Considering I’ve always had a family doctor and see them perhaps three times a year, my immediate thought was that was an odd hill to die on.Not sure who the Liberals campaign manager was, but they need to fire them into the sun. Just totally out of place in a 2025 world. Topics that have been dominating conversations last few fears : Housing affordability...traffic congestion...inflation....jobs. Liberals: "Family Doctors!"
Agree that declining healthcare in Ontario should be a concern, but Ontarians have shown its not the most important issue for them considering how much they keep voting for Ford. Like @Admiraz Beez mentioned, it was a weird hill to die on.Concerns over declining Health Care has been a consistent issue that people have been complaining about for the last decade. I was going to react surprised by when people taking pictures of their food all bets are off. There were signs in my polling place prohibiting cameras but I guess here we are. It's indirectly illegal under the Ontario Elections Act.Also people stopping to take selfies and crap.
I think that comment comes up after every election in Canada when one of them doesn't win.I wonder if this will force the NDP and OLP to consider a merge.
That is a big deal, considering the riding has been blue pretty much forever and Graydon is a high-profile local name.
