Right-leaning: Bradford, Bailao, Saunders: ~ 21.5%

Centre 'ish, Hunter, Coteau, Hussen: ~ 11.6%

Left: Matlow, Penalosa, Karpoche: ~ 17%

Huh, that's just about 46%, balanced with undecided seen above.
 
What are you using to categorize candidates as Right, Centre, and Left? Is it particular issues/voting record? People/parties they have associated with?

Partisan affiliations of the candidates or their organizers/campaign managers for the most part. Let me break it down this way:

Right-leaning:

Bradford:

Associated with former Mayor Tory, a former PC Party leader, a partisan conservative political strategist is leading his efforts.

Bailao:

Associated with former Mayor Tory, campaign headed by Nick Kouvalis - strong PC/Conservative association

Saunders: Ran for the PCs in last provincial election.


Centre 'ish, Hunter, Coteau, Hussen: ~ 11.6%

All members of the Liberal party either provincial or federal.

Left:

Matlow, Penalosa, Karpoche: ~ 17%

Matlow - Typically associated with Liberals, but flanks left, at least from a grandstanding perspective, would be understood as typically voting w/the NDP block on Council though not aligned to them.

Penalosa - The primary 'left' candidate of the Mayoral election just past; platform unabashedly progressive.

Karpoche - Current NDP MPP

None of the centreish candidates listed above will run for Mayor... They all have cozy jobs so why risk it to become mayor.

Also Bradford's ratings seem rather low. Doesn't make sense Penalosa's and Karpoche's are higher.

She gave up on running for the Ontario Liberals ... don't think she has it in her to run for a mayoral position. Won't produce any results and will be terrible for the city. Rather have a right leaning mayor who can work with Ford since Ford is calling most of the strings anyways

Hunter was a fairly good Education Minister. Modernized the curriculum, including STEM courses and the (controversial in some circles) sex ed changes. She received criticism for the closure and consolidation of rural Ontario schools, but that is unlikely to impact her in the 416.

Her 2020 Ontario Liberal leadership campaign fizzled and she came a distant fourth.
