Anyone planning to go?

this debate is open to all mayoral candidates. I'm most interested in seeing that twerp LeDrew in attendance, given his taxpayers-be-damned attitude.

Wednesday October 4, 7:30-9:30 pm
St. Lawrence Centre, 27 Front Street East,
2 blocks east of Union Station

Too bad I didn't notice anyone else there, except for Shawn Micallef. Pitfield, LeDrew and Miller were in attendance, as well as most of the fringe candidates. The night was a riot.

There was the official Communist candidate, who drew some of the biggest laughs for lines such as "there's no homeless in Havana", and the biggest boos for his support of the courageous stand that the TTC employees took in that illegal walkout.

The seating arrangement had Pitfield and Miller in the front row sitting next to each other, which made things interesting. LeDrew was in the back, and seemed to have the most fun and enjoyment, grinning the whole time and taking many shots. Though he did get his due regarding private education while not paying taxes (which led to a good laugh when a "lightning" round question was asked about how you would spend an extra free $1 Million, and he said "education).

Miller and Pitfield ended up either getting to rebutting to msot of the questions, so there was more talking by the big three, a good format, but there was some poor organization at times (such as Anne Mroczkowski forgetting to start with introductions).

I was not happy about how much the St. Clair ROW, a done deal was brought up - as if the community was against it. Miller to his credit continued to vocally support it.

I was glad that Miller performed well. I have been less than enthuastic in my sipport for him (enough disappointments), but I think he was able to instill more confidence in him (though I disagree with such things as incineration). Pitfield's not that bad a good speaker, I just disagree with her, and she does take certain things too far.

LeDrew had fun. I think he's the Tom Jacobek of the 2006 election.

It was a great night.
