On the weekend, I went to check out the 1000 Islands area and particularly, Boldt Castle. It's located on the US side of the St. Lawrence so that meant going through customs on the American side first and then the Canadian.
Overall, the area is very nice with great views all around. The castle itself needs a major overhaul because of the neglect over the many years. However, the first floor was restored beautifully and I can only imagine how nice the other areas were.
The shortest international bridge in the world.
The powerhouse.
Some of the graffiti in the upper rooms.
This was the indoor pool.
Vaulting in the powerhouse.
Bowling alley on the lower floor of the Alster Tower.

The boathouse.
