Looking at the track route to Peterborough, I am hoping there will be a GO station in the Markham East area (Boxgrove). This would also be beneficial for North East Durham as well.

canrob, that is a lot of transferring to get to your desitination. I am in Markham east as well but I rather take the GO Train even though it will cost me a little bit more. I want to avoid the hassle of so many bus transfers to get to work.

Does anyone know what type of changes will occur on the Stoufville GO line? I heard that they will be getting all day train service which would be a bonus. But not sure how long a project will that would take.

If I had a choice, the flexiblity of renting any place I wanted and worked in Markham I would rent up north. An additional 15-20 mins commute time from downtown to Markham may sound short but when you add that to the total commute time it would be horrible. I would rather rent in NYCC which is...

The bottom line to all this is individual preference. Markham is a great city (or is it town?) but its geared towards the "family/kids" lifestyle. But there are still some pockets of good hangouts for single people. If you like the club lifestyle then get something in the downtown core. I...
