Looks to me that 865 could be one of the units GO might be restoring to full operation, as it seems they may have masked off the windows for repainting.

Well it has lasted a solid 3 months, staying consistently in service. As of today, however, it has been replaced on its consist, ironically by cab car 249, which was out of service for the past 2 months.

I know one F59PH was seen in primer at Ontario Northland’s paint shop on September 3rd, likely indicating it was about to be repainted into the MX scheme, but I have no clue whether that was one of the rebuild units, or 560, the unit they sent up to template the other units.

My fear is that with the ex Metrolink units, they are in a pretty rough state. The majority of them do not have prime movers or HEP, and most of them were sitting in a deadline for around 4 years. The EXO units have run pretty consistently as far as I know and have their major components still...

I can see that, however, would it then not make sense to just use the 9 or so EXO units for revenue service? Rather than using their parts to fix other locomotives?

I have a feeling that RFP related to the current rebuild of the ex Metrolink units, considering they have acquired 13 of them. Also I did not see anywhere that stated the locomotives had to be new builds.

I would think it'd make more sense to have all the ex EXO ones running and using the ex Metrolink ones for parts, considering the rough shape most of the ex Metrolink ones are in

2 more Series VII cab cars have been repainted at the Whitby Rail Yard (couldn't get their numbers).

The rumour I've seen circulating around is that these cars had issues regarding their overhaul and thus needed to be sent back to ONR for fixing (with 214 being the only one that MX seemingly fixed on their own, hence why it is now in regular operation). Anyone with more knowledge have any info?

So it appears 206 has been sent back to ONR for some reason, was seen in transit on a CN Train.

I remember back in 2023, there was restrictions put in place against doubleheading trains with 2 locomotives, due to concerns that they were weakening the concrete at Union Station (iirc) Recently though, there have 3 instances of doubleheaded trains in the span of under 2 months, 649/629...

A few days ago I seemingly saw cab car 206 being prepared to be sent back to ONR? It was in the area at Willowbrook yard where coaches either being sent for refurbishment or just delivered from refurbishment usually are stored, and it had "DO NOT HUMP" stickers on the doors, and it was slotted...

One of the F59s at North Bay is in the process of being repainted (post title says it's a Metrolink unit, but it could also be 560, the unit that was sent up as well for templating).

In all actuality, the car is running with locomotive 637

Seems some have been moved to one of the tracks near the Willowbrook canopy. (not my image) Don't know if this means they're getting ready to put them in service yet but who knows.
