    Vaughan Festival Condominiums | ?m | 59s | Menkes | Arcadis

From the IKEA Vaughan parking lot this past Saturday. I'm optimistic, but I hope the balcony wave pattern in Phase 2 either compliments Phase 1s or is very different, I think a carbon copy might look a little too cookie cutter and it would lose its whimsical-ness.

At least they circled all the damaged spots with spray paint so we know where to spray the self-expanding foam!

Anyone have a really long squeegee? Windows could use a bit of scrub.

    Vaughan Transit City Condos: TC4 & TC5 | 174.34m | 50s | SmartCentres | Diamond Schmitt

From today. Got a tour of some of the rental units. Very nicely furnished, and none of those wonky layouts you see downtown. Prices are slightly better than downtown prices, though there are no studios, which ultimately brings up the price. The gym, shared between the 3 buildings is incredible...

    Vaughan 130 Doughton | 173.05m | 52s | Melrose | Kirkor

Another new one from PLANit. This time for the south-eastern edge of the VMC. I can't wait for people to come from all over the globe to see Vaughan's famous building feature- THE SMUDGE!

    Vaughan 201 Millway | ?m | 45s | August Group | Weston Consulting

New entry on PLANit. North of the supposed VMC boundary, but rules are made to be broken. Mods, please feel free to fix the title if needed. Not sure I love the haphazard placement of the buildings, but hey, at least they aren't blue and grey!

    Vaughan Promenade Mall Revitalization | ?m | 35s | Liberty Development | WZMH

From this past Friday, June 9th. West tower is working on the floor of level 26/35, and the East tower is working on walls of level 23/30. Notice in the last 2 photos, the podium is split. I'm assuming this to allow for expansion/contraction. Still, it seems relatively noticeable, and based on...

My (as always) very uneducated guess, is that those supports are made for 1-floor increments. But for the Mech. sections, they just stack a couple floors worth of supports in the spacing. No floor being poured, just how the supports are made. Again, I am just a guy with absolutely no formal...

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

My biggest gripe with the roof is usually the early part of the season. Obviously the technical requirements don't allow this, but in my perfect world, it would only be closed for rain. As for reorienting the field, my gut tells me the biggest problem with that is they would've needed to do...

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Yup, or damn close to it! Then there would be a very sharp decline before it ramped up during the summer months. I used to love going to the games right after the home opener with like 7,000-9,000 people!

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Even last year, the impact that bright lights with dispersion mirrors had on the 100 outfield seats was incredible.

Step-back? That's my very uneducated guess

A couple of hours later the first of the glazing appears... and let me tell you, it's even worse in person 😬

And lastly, from today, still brought to you by my new S23 Ultra (still wish I was sponsored, pretty please Samsung?). Starting from the east side and moving to the south/south-west side. The last picture tries to show the ramp that will eventually be the entry-level road for the towers and...

    Vaughan CG Tower | 188.97m | 60s | Cortel Group | BDP Quadrangle

From today, still brought to you by my new S23 Ultra (still wish I was sponsored). "Brick" cladding is going on around the top of the podium. I'm personally colour-blind so take this with a grain of salt... It looks bland and greyed out in person.

    Vaughan Transit City Condos: TC4 & TC5 | 174.34m | 50s | SmartCentres | Diamond Schmitt

From today, brought to you by my new S23 Ultra (still wish I was sponsored). First 3 pictures taken from the same spot. 2nd and 3rd were taken with the 10x telephoto lens.

From today, brought to you by my new S23 Ultra (wish I was sponsored). 2nd and 3rd images were taken from the same spot. One with the main lens, and the other with the 3x telephoto.

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

Due to how the supports work, there is a floor with no corner columns every 5 (ish) floors. The floors just below the start of new V columns (sorry, I don't know the terminology) don't need vertical supports because theoretically, V holds up said floor/ceiling. Not sure if that made any sense...

    Vaughan Mobilio | 64.7m | 18s | Menkes | Turner Fleischer

Yup, 1 crane here. Rest of VMC only has 6 total right now (5 @ Festival, 1 @ CG Tower)
