394 Markham St (Hariri Pontarini, 3s)

Just walked by this today and noticed a house was missing: https://goo.gl/maps/z3LoMeHiu3omfm7z5 How/why was the former Victorian torn down? Was it not heritage listed? Obviously needed some work, but the interiors were gorgeous and appeared to be almost entirely original as well...

    1004-1006 College St (?, ?, ?)

No building permit has been filed as of yet, but signage for "RGC Design Group" have gone up on the fencing, who's website includes this as one of their projects... http://rgcdesigngroup.com/portfolio/college-st/ Barraida next door only just completed a major rear extension though, so I...

Architects don't design buildings in whatever cities they feel like - they design buildings for clients who have hired them to do so. And considering all the apparent opposition to this and other, generally daring designs by foreign "starchitects", it's no surprise that more Toronto developers...

A future midrise Toronto/urban renewal in the future?

This isn't tenable in the long term however. Eventually prices will reach the point where buying an entire house will be out of reach to all but the ultra-wealthy and so they'll once again be subdivided into units small enough to be sold at a cost that the market can absorb. Likewise, existing...

Ink (which owns the Guvernment) purchased Sound Academy a while ago and seems to be repositioning it as the "new" Guv. That's not really true. So long as there are people going out, there will always be a need for venues of varying sizes to accommodate the size of the crowd that will come...

    Is CityPlace Toronto’s next ghetto?

I'm sure its been mentioned already, but Jamestown was built in a period of inner-city decline (Toronto's population had declined from over 700,000 in 1970 to less than 600,000 a decade later - a steeper drop than the likes of NYC) and low property values. As such, there wasn't much desire to...

Toronto Gets A New Outdoor Concert Venue

There's already the Molson Amphitheater for that. Its not as if any symphonies are going to be playing at Echo Beach - so far its been host to a couple electronic music festivals, various bands, etc...y'know, things where people want to dance and otherwise move around...not sit and stare while...

That would be great if you wanted to do that (don't consider it any sort of obligation), thank you. :)

    Warehouses

I've checked out some of them from the exterior, but haven't contacted anyone to view inside. I'll probably do that soon, but I still haven't found anything I'm too excited about. That would be correct, the logistics of sharing a space with another business would most likely be too difficult.

Just rent. And month by month leasing/payments would be ideal, or at most, a 1 year lease (ideally, with the option of continuing that for subsequent years). Nope, no need to go through any of them, I've already got the necessary funds available. Well I'm not in any business right...

    Warehouses

Happy new years to you too :) Budget-wise, based on what I've found on ICX, I am under the impression that I'd be able to keep costs under $4000/month. And parking, loading areas, or anything like that aren't necessary. The only that really would be necessary is that it can't be surrounded by...

"Inner city" being something like this: (within the orange area being inner-inner city, red area being all of it :p) And its use would be for a multi-purpose art space/venue-type thing.

Looking for 3000-5000 sqft. of space somewhere in the inner city, for commercial use.

So aside from icx.ca (commercial section on mls), any other more comprehensive sites devoted to warehouses for sale/lease (the latter being the relevant one in my case)? Also, any idea how easy it is to find ones that are rented on month-by-month basis instead of a multi-year/month lease?
