I spoke to one of the two GC's who were bidding on this a few months ago. The whole group is going back to continue discussions on how to move this forward as the estimated construction costs were way higher than expected.

That they are. I can confirm that. Along with Retail Insider.

I wonder if they back filled to put the project on hold. They have not marketed it at all, and their website shows it as a future development.

The shoring here started a few weeks ago finally.

From what I understood, Mercedes was investigating selling the site to Rio-can and becoming integrated into the development. They were also looking at out right selling the site if they could find a suitable location for a new high profile dealership and the office component would move to a new...

They have been moving along the back section all week.

They closed it about a month or two ago. New landlord pre Covid upped the rent and they decided to move everything into the main store. As a twist of fate, the BMO is going in across the street from the BMO that was torn down a few years back.

BMO has also signed a lease to move out of Canada Square and move into the old Sporting Life Bike store. From my understanding, Oxford bought BMO out to get them out of the property.

The listing notes it is a sale-leaseback. So clearly Cineplex is not in a hurry to leave. But definitely get some much-needed money.

Building gone, shoring is starting.

I had heard earlier in the year that Haven has sold the site. So I don't think we are going to see much going on there for a while.
