Toronto King Portland Centre and Kingly Condos | 57.6m | 15s | Allied | Hariri Pontarini

Not sure if this has come up before in this thread, but here are the 3 restaurants that will be in this building: * Ascari (opened) - https://www.ascari.ca/kingwest * Dasha - https://www.blogto.com/eat_drink/2019/07/toronto-restaurant-openings-holy-perogy-gazo-chi-dim-sum-dasha-buono/ * Lov -...

Toronto King Portland Centre and Kingly Condos | 57.6m | 15s | Allied | Hariri Pontarini

Work has continued on the outside of the building as well and on Thursday (I believe) they put up these new sign posts on the east side entrance. There's two of them, one on each side of the alley-way entrance. The screens face north and animate "love" (for now at least). The fronts of them are...

That's Indigo. They have floors 2-5 then everything above is Shopify. I'm a biased source, but seeing Indigo's floors compared to Shopify's is quite the stark difference in money spent.

The only downside to these raised floors is no dogs allowed

That's mostly correct. The only space we're done with is WeWork (240 Richmond) which we had for a year as overflow.

Toronto King Portland Centre and Kingly Condos | 57.6m | 15s | Allied | Hariri Pontarini

Took a whole bunch of photos from inside the Shopify offices (so far we have floors 6,7,8 and 10 open). There's still a lot of work to do, but the building is amazing the curved glass portions offer great views. Monday was busy with hundreds of people moving in (including Indigo as well)...

Toronto King Portland Centre and Kingly Condos | 57.6m | 15s | Allied | Hariri Pontarini

Occupancy of this building is starting on April 1st at the latest. I know this because I'll be working there so I'll try and share some interior photos.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Apologies if this was posted before, but I didn't see it yet: https://twitter.com/nithyavijaya/status/934080108540805120 > Mean travel time is down 4-5 minutes on #KingStreetPilot AND variability in travel times has decreased. Increased reliability knowing how long your trip will be is the...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

I commute between King/George and King/Spadina every day with a mix of walking and streetcar. Here's what I've seen so far in the first week of the pilot (and this is based on myself, co-workers, friends etc): * streetcars are *much* faster. It's been so noticeable that people have been shocked...

    Toronto Peter Street Condominiums | 129.84m | 40s | CentreCourt | a—A

Everyone complains about retail in condos and obviously this one has a Starbucks. Thankfully as @interchange42 posted, Flock is amazing. I've eaten there twice for lunch and everything is great. It's quite busy every day as well.

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Not to defend the pedestrians who walked onto the actual bike path, but are they actually doing anything wrong here in the intersections? From what I saw all the intersections are shared spaces. There really isn't a "bike path". It's why the pavement doesn't continue through the intersections...

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I agree the designers couldn't really make up their minds. But you'll notice that the bicycle symbols are only at the "entrances" of the bike path. When the pavement starts or ends you'll find a bike symbol to denote what the path is meant for. Which actually does make sense. But if you take...

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I just took walk from Yonge to Spadina and it is REALLY busy this weekend with the Waterfront Festival going on. Few observations: * The quality of work looks great. It doesn't look like it rushed at all. You might be able to complain about the lack of vision/ambition but the actual work looks...

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

I took the free trip on Saturday between 5-6pm. On the way to Pearson it wasn't too busy but I was surprised how full it got at Pearson including a lot of travellers with luggage. Anyway, the only other small observation I had backs up what another person said. The UPX ticket people have a...

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

Haven't seen it mentioned in here but the Union station is finally visible from inside the Skywalk. They've taken down the temporary construction walls that were blocking it for the most part and it's looking very impressive. I'll try and take a photo by Wednesday if no one else has by then.

Global Village Backpackers Redevelopment (460 King W, Allied REIT, 3s, Gensler)

It's tough to tell from those two photos, but the new windows look fantastic in person and completely change the building.

Toronto Richmond Adelaide Centre: EY Tower | 188.05m | 40s | Oxford Properties | Kohn Pedersen Fox

I had a meeting in this building last week and I was told by the company renting there that everyone was being kicked out the building very soon. They had already started boxing all their things up ready to move out.

    Toronto Bisha Hotel and Residences | 146.91m | 44s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

Most of the interior/back walls have been gutted and demolished. You can now see into the building a lot better walking by.

    Toronto TCHC Block 32 Development | ?m | 41s | TCHC | KPMB

Canoe Park is also still surrounded by construction zones. Just like everything else about City Place, more jumping to conclusions before it's finished. Wait until all these buildings are completed without construction and the park will seem a lot nicer and busier.
