The blue bird, bound not to please some, adds a desperately needed splat of colour against the drab facade and drab paint palette of the building. Colour Colour Colour, we need more in this winter city with 5 months of drab. We need more Latin American Architects, A few photos from Panama City

Iconic Yorkville?? Who markets these horrible projects. The only redeeming grace here is the retention of the heritage facades on Yonge to match the completed ones to the north that are gorgeous. I hope that at least they don't cheap out by not lighting them up like their neighbour. So far they...

If it is a mirror of the southern tower, that looks like a double tower, perhaps with 2 elevator cores, does this tower have just the one? Are those diagonal beams meant to hold up the weight of the entire curtain wall or transfer loads to the core?

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

This tower is a far less successful, timid copy of 1 Bloor East. That tower has elegant facade curves formed by balcony sies and colour change, that are replicated in the podium levels and window walls on Yonge. I never get tired of looking at 1 Bloor East.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

If you have travelled to cities in Europe or South America you will recall the beauty of their Avenues and Boulevards. What could be Toronto's Avenues and boulevards are simple traffic conduits. There's nothing beautiful about any of the major streets criss crossing the city Sheppard, Finch...

    Toronto 25 St Mary | 204m | 59s | Tenblock | gh3

No one seems to be talking about the wastefulness of this renoviction. Tons and Tons of concrete will have to be removed and dumped somewhere? Tons and tons of drywall, glass, metals and plastics won't be reusable. The noise and dust of demolition and trucking will be relentless for the...

I'm really disappointed with the redesign of Wellington Street a missed opportunity. I've travelled around Europe, South Pacific and am now on a four month tour of Bogota, Quito, Lima and Santiago. These 4 cities have taken their planning notes from the best of European cities. Wellington could...

The brown slats hiding the facade above the retained historic facade, are lazy and don't show much imagination. I think they hide the swimming pool behind, but could have had better tteatment. I suppose the heritage facade will shine in comparison.

Now this is what I would call Archtecture. It maks you think more than once. It's not monolithic or an extruded concrete box with balcony decoration posing as Architecture. I want to see all those building materials up close and why that material and why in that particular location. I want to...

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

They should make the railings on the exterior staircase RED, as they seem to be now in the construction stage. Why can't we have colour in this city? Grey, brown, green, blue and black seem to be the only choice of our architects. Ryerson University's Daphne Cockwell Health Sciences Complex on...

I can't believe thay took down that charming facade, It was so nice to come home to, even if the apartments themselves were not so nice, but for what? It better be a damn great addition to the neighbourhood that we will love to look at and preserve into the future. Right who am I kidding, a...

Every construction worker, electrician, plumber, trades-person should have the same rights as the rest of us to stay home and protect themselves and their families. No ones health should be sacrificed to capitalist greed. Buyers will just have to wait like the rest of the planet. We will need...

    Toronto Untitled Toronto | 121m | 37s | Reserve Properties | Arcadis

So this is the best that Pharrell Williams could come up with, the standard Toronto shoe boxes with jaggedy balconies? Either he had very little creative input or he should stick to composing great music. This reeks of developers cashing in on celebrity to sell a very mediocre bland development.

What happens to the bits built under the Gardiner Expressway when it eventually rusts to pieces and caves in to be supplanted by a tunnel and at grade grand avenue. I predict that will happen but not under our present mayor.

We're stuck with a hole in the ground and diminished sidewalks for the next few years. Buyer confidence to get this project moving again is going to take several years due to the corona-virus pandemic.

    Toronto 100 Queens Quay at Sugar Wharf | 117.34m | 25s | Menkes | B+H

This building is a dismal attempt at architecture. 1st year students would do a more creative, inspired job than this mediocre, plain, glass clad shoe box. The design principles here were biggest for least cost while not drawing any attention to this monument to liquor and dismal environmental...

Radical, A project that doesn't confrom to Toronto's ruthless grid but dares to take another angle. Kudos
