    Finch West Line 6 LRT

There is a silver lining here. If you stand in the right place, and squint your eyes, or crop your photos, you can almost pretend that we have Platform Screen Doors! :D (Cropped from original pic by Reese Martin.)

Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge South Block | 296m | 85s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

It will be interesting to see if any of the areas marked as "not part of submission" are still demolished.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 351.85m | 106s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Yesterday. New road taking shape, although I doubt it will be connected to the Yonge/Harbour intersection any time soon.

    Toronto ROQ City | 113.48m | 33s | Tricon | Hariri Pontarini

This looks solid and permanent. Not adjectives I would have thought I'd be using to describe a new project on the downtown east side. The somewhat 70s institutional appearance provides some welcome variety and makes the neighbourhood suddenly feel more mixed-use, even though it's actually...

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

I'm pleased that we're getting a "Gehry-lite" here. I've personally never been much a fan of his more outlandish designs, but it seems like we're getting the best of both Gehry flair and "conventional" design here. Also, those reflecting city lights at night look fantastic!

    Toronto Pinnacle Lakeside (Phase 1) | 174.86m | 54s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Earlier today. Excuse the LED ceiling light reflections.

    Yonge sidewalk slowly taking shape.

    Toronto Without Wires

One of the clunkers gets a makeover by removing the wires. Original pic of Social at Church + Dundas by @rdaner Wires removed by Gemini.

Indeed. David Pecaut Square must be one of the most bland and underused public spaces downtown. Hopefully this project will breathe some life into it.

Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge South Block | 296m | 85s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

I've got a bit of a soft spot for the brown pebbledashed look of the cladding. It adds some 70s heft to the neighbourhood.

Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge South Block | 296m | 85s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

This is indeed great news. A hotel will do more for the neighbourhood that the inevitable post-demo parking lot would ever have. I'm curious how much of the old printing press podium will be kept, or if some of that will still be torn down.

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

I could be mistaken, but I had 8 Spruce at 265 m and Forma East at 262 m, so Forma East is shorter. Forma West would be taller than 8 Spruce, but I personally doubt that will ever be built as planned.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 351.85m | 106s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

All the hoarding is down on Yonge now.

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

Even in its unfinished state, the first several levels are already superior to 8 Spruce's disappointing podium.

I appreciate that interpolating the two adjacent waves in to a corner piece would have been difficult, but the corner ridge gap does lose some of the flow. Still, it's a small detail in the bigger picture.

They're really clinging on to that unnecessary bracing. Reconfiguring that cramped sidewalk is long overdue.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 351.85m | 106s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

I remember when I first moved to Toronto almost 20 years ago, thinking that living 21 floors up was insanely high, as we had nothing comparable back in the UK. This takes it to a whole other level (pun intended!)

    Toronto Without Wires

All fair points. Thanks for taking the time to reply in more detail. On the issue of watermarks, I believe they all have an embedded (non-visible) algorithmic watermark, but I agree there should be a visible one as well. On the issue of Inspector Harry Callahan's thoughts on "opinions", thanks...

    Toronto Without Wires

Different views of different parts of the city. Perhaps this should be moved under the Photos and Videos forum subsection, rather than Transportation and Infrastructure? If anyone knows how to do that, be my guest.
