What's the function of the roof interior space? Is the distinctive crown purely aesthetic?

:D edging is not healthy. Seriously. I talk from personal afflictions.

I have to research most of the text emoticons you use in the forum hehe. Otherwise I'm left like this :/

The trend of run on sentences is infecting this forum too now? It's sort of growing on me lol but it hurts my eyes (and brain) literally. Oh and this cladding blows 11YV out of the water. 11YV looks like a cardboard box in comparison.

I can't believe this thread is almost 20 years old...I was a young 'hopeful' newcomer when this thread started - and now pushing 40 lol

So they don't care at all? I know if they sue the developer, the courts can say they bought subject to change but the shift here is too noticeable to ignore.

Can't the condo board vote to fill up the white gaps? Probably the least expensive way to fix the grotesque mistake. Add some white cladding to get cohesive blocks of white clad wrap around sections or at least some kind of straight line geometric shape. It could really work wonders for this...

Agreed, beautifully done. Which is why I said I wish all condos would have a similar style of minimalist balconies in Toronto, with a focus on extensive shared indoor or outdoor spaces/terraces/patios.

Hi Koops :D I think that is a market research question but have a feeling more people than not would forgo balconies in exchange for for more indoor space or other amenities like lush terraces. Just think of all the money spent on balconies going into shared spaces...just a thought.

My wording was not very clear. I simply meant the architects/builders should opt out of traditional balconies. Balcony infills/conversions may also be beneficial for existing balconies but likely not feasible.

New condos should seriously reconsider the default use of balconies. In colder climates balconies turn into bird toilets and sad furniture storage —unused for much of the year, difficult to maintain, and prone to deterioration. Minimal balconies, Juliet balconies, or no balconies at all make far...

This glazing is what Rosario Varacally 1 Yorkville had in the renderings. Very similar design concept. Unfortunately for 1 Yorkville, quality glazing did not happen, just endless mullions.

This project brings to mind this lakeside complex in Tirana, designed by a Dutch firm. Tirana has such a vibrant, colorful character—I’ve visited several times—and I get a warm, nostalgic feeling whenever I see a project in Toronto that brings that city to mind.

    Toronto Y&S Condos | 130.77m | 38s | Tribute | Graziani + Corazza

And here are my camera shots...unfortunately I didn't get any direct shot of the project, and of the one I did, I was taking the image while holding onto groceries and my other bag so I didn't realize how out of focus the image was...but you get the impression of how this building continues the...

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

I wonder how it must feel for Frank Gehry to get to see his Toronto brainchild grow up into a supertall landmark. He is 96.

    Toronto Concord Sky | 300.2m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

From the looks of it, this will turn out in the top 10 best claddings in the city. Mark my words.

Could not agree more. A monster of a building has been deleted.

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 2) | 283.6m | 85s | Menkes | a—A

Absolutely! The massing is very elegant. With high quality cladding you are a guaranteed some pretty sleek towers. That goes for every single condo in Toronto. The city would look way different.
