In case anyone hadn't seen it, Statcan's 2023 population estimates are out. In 2023, the city of Toronto's population was estimated to be 3,110,984 (link).
Even without a bunch of new entrances, real old-fashioned shop windows along the Yonge-St. facade would bring fine-grained detail and interest to the block.
That was my experience on Monday. Long line ups for baggage check--in, but otherwise everything went smoothly. My checked baggage arrived at London Gatwick and we sailed through customs and baggage pick-up there.

... as a wealthy, bucolic town? You can argue that highway 413 is necessary to relieve the 401 and the GTA highway network in general, but I haven't heard ANYBODY argue that this road is meant to SAVE Caledon! The only people in Caledon potentially being left in the dust are hopeful land...
I was thinking in terms of allowing landowners to subdivide their lots for a profit rather than the state taking my home and relegating my family to one room in it!
By simply allowing 50' lots to be cut in two, the GTHA could increase its population density quite meaningfully without dramatically disrupting neighbourhood ecosystems. I admit that I, too, would be annoyed if a 20-storey condo sprouted right next door to my detached Scarborough house. However...
