    Toronto Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Design is a bit of a thud for sure. Location location, location - unbelievable they can get $2000+ sq. ft. on such small units. If we just let the existing market framework play out, it will not provide any affordable housing (where the main met demand is, not met by endless new market units)...

    Mississauga 180 Burnhamthorpe Road West | 230.15m | 71s | Emblem Developments | Arcadis

Never mind parking, the new renderings indicate terrible design decline over previous. Arcadie is simply using IBI as a cash cow. IBI on its own was beginning to design some interesting buildings. These two are dreck on the skyline.

    Toronto 2 Bloor West Podium Redevelopment | ?m | 2s | KingSett Capital | WZMH

2 Bloor W should help at pedestrian level. I agree re 2 Bloor East HBC site - totally redo it!!! Does anyone know if Union Square dev has been mothballed along with other new office dev - It seemed to me the best new office tower addition to downtown (after TD at Front Street).

    Toronto Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Perhaps the new condo race will be not to the top but to the bottom...

I assume this is now indefinitely delayed. Is it?

    Toronto The Campbell | 47.24m | 14s | TAS | Teeple Architects

This is a good kind of post - before-after comparisons reporting something much better!

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

I'm still waiting for the bungee jump between the N/S towers to be announced..,.

    Toronto Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Right up there with "forever views" which are only achieved on the roof...

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

As I said in a series of comments yesterday, the FORMA two-tower tall stack of boxes is in its way subtly intriguing and very "respectful" of the Toronto skyline which is mostly other boxes, the main exceptions being the CN Tower and City Hall, our most iconic curvaceous buildings. I for one...

    Toronto Celeste Condominiums | 136m | 39s | Alterra | Sweeny &Co

Sweeney is very good at street level on this one!!!!

    Toronto Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

I think most architects would recognize a well designed building, whatever the (dis)agreement about this or that detail. . Balconies can be one or more stacks of attention-drawing protusions, or blend in with the overall design.

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

The view through to the red trees is sensational!!!

    Toronto Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Well London and New York assume they are the top cities in the world, and therefore are entitled to the best architecture and/or largest investments including excellent and/or astonishing exterior design. (Doesn't always work there either.) Toronto still tends to think were so lucky to get a big...

Agree re 10 years, unless they build the antenna from the 2d floor.

    Toronto Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Would someone provide the design of "the first one"?

    Toronto Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

I've long tried to promote the idea that buildings whose relative size makes them stand out in the community/city skyline should have to meet much higher design standards via the Design Advisory Committee or whatever, since so many residents have to view them everyday and they make up a sense...

    Toronto Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Yes, Concord will need to do much better in design or preferably just accept the existing one and not mess with it.

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

This is a huge investment, so not surprising adjustments sought right down to the end of approvals. Seems to indicate it is now a "viable" project. God knows what it will look like in the sky. I hope they manage to get it right - what looked to me like a change from something earlier that was...

    Toronto 212 King Street West | 250m | 80s | Dream Office | SHoP

I agree re dull design for such a huge (for Toronto) building (especially the smaller one), though the ground level looks interesting. I have long advocated we do not need a design review panel, except for the largest/tallest buildings which, since they stand out in the skyline, should only get...
