    SmartTrack (Proposed)

The St Clair Transportation Master Plan comes out to ~$215M, not including the station and it's funding is linked to the new station program. It includes an extension of Davenport Rd, Union St, Gunns Rd, and Keele St. It's already been extensively studied, the city really wants to get it over...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Sigh, Are we gonna have to chain ourselves to Bloor (re: Spadina Expwy)? Where is Jane Jacobs when you need her? I know she's passed, but all jokes aside. I don't think many urbanists have the stomach to watch construction workers tear up our complete streets. It's just too violent. Too many...

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Ah, I found the IBC that Metrolinx did for St Clair (Barrie Line) / Earlscourt Station. Metrolinx scrubbed it from their servers. Ellesmere (Stouffville Line) and St Clair (Barrie Line) seem to be the only ones from the document that got 'delayed.'...

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Are those bridges already wide enough for a second track? It seems like they've dialled back converting the at grade crossings north of the city. They'll probably just plow 2WAD service through and upgrade incrementally over the long term. After the Barrie Line Double Track Enabling Project is...

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

@vic Seems like we're neighbours. This sound barrier is totally gonna ruin the view from my office. This is a photo today: A lot of neighbours are sad, we actually love seeing the trains. But even yesterday I saw kids playing on the tracks, people walking their dog etc. So a barrier is needed...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

Ah, I see from the archives this is true.I should have confirmed before posting. Lived on St Clair my entire life and I do not recall ever seeing night streetcars, but I guess I must have been too young before the year 2000 to really notice. A night streetcar on Bathurst could potentially...

    TTC: Streetcar Network

Yes, it has apparently. I think this is the first we’re ever seeing 24h streetcar service on the route. An overnight Bathurst streetcar to St Clair would be *chefs kiss.

    TTC: Streetcar Network

The 512 Streetcar is now 24h starting Sept. 1!

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

2B makes more practical sense in my opinion for the following reasons: - Remember, people take transit to get to places of interest.Terminating the line at Scarborough Centre connects to a major point of interest with relatively high levels of density. - For the same reason the Line 2...

Population of Toronto (Including Census Counts)

Is there anyway to get population numbers for the former 6? It would be interesting to see if any of the big 3 crossed the 1 million mark.

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

A connection here is so desired because it connects The Greater Junction Area to Shaw St through Lappin and Hallam to downtown and the waterfront. It's funny to outsiders because it seems like such a teeny tiny connection. If Wallace went further East to Shaw this wouldn't really be an issue...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

LRT would have been a wonderful solution along Sheppard and Finch East. I think it could have worked really well had it been implemented when originally theorized in Transit City nearly 20 years ago. But that time has passed. In the future Line 4 will connect 4 Rapid transit lines and will be a...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

It would be cool to see a single SRT car in the mezzanine of the new Scarborough Centre station once it's built. Whether it be affixed to a wall, hanging over an open air section, etc. There are so many ways to memorialize parts of our past using artistic interpretation building it into our...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The UPX will be rolled into GO RER eventually. Weston is a dense 200 year old community in a Subway desert. I always find the argument that somehow this location isn't worthy of a stop strange considering how little time it adds to the trip.and that future electrification will reduce this...

    Toronto St Clair-Old Weston GO Station | 9.13m | 1s | City of Toronto | Hatch

They could always elevate the streetcar over Old Weston, the rail corridor and Keele/Weston. Add no trackage to the streetcar route. Reduce pedestrian conflicts. Not crazy expensive. It could be our little Broadway Junction.

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Oh, my apologies. I thought the Subway's purpose was to provide high order LOCAL transit in the City of Toronto. How can a station such as Cummer not meet this criteria? Losing stations like Cummer, I think the City should press the province to create firm boundaries on the area the subway is...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I'm sorry? Do the regions around Toronto contribute to the TTC subways operations, capital projects such as Signal Upgrades, station upgrades, fleet etc., which directly enable these extensions to suburbia? Or are we supposed to bite the bullet like we already do maintaining highways mainly...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I think we forget this is the Toronto Subway, plans for Cummer station have existed for decades. If any cost cutting measures are to be taken, surely it would be north of Steeles.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

You know, as much as York Region was undeserving of a subway extension, they paid their part. And after going up there to see the going ons it seems like they also have political will to change the built form around these new transit investments which should bode well for future ridership...

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The objective should be getting more people on Transit. If that means 25,000 boardings at Bloor-Lansdowne slowing down the trip of 2,500 boardings at Waterfront Allandale, so be it. Although IIRC electrification leaves travel times unchanged for the most part with added stations.
