Anyone done a floor count to check where we are as of today? Guessing we wont' be far from the top now that it is confirmed at just 86 floors ...

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Great updates and ty! Feels like this project continues to move ahead of schedule since they moved to 24/7 work.

I know my opinion would probably be in the super minority, but I just haven't been able to wrap my head around that behemoth. Pictures or in person. I love the spirit of what they tried to do, but it feels out of place to me and too large for the environment they've created around it. If I...

Hmmmmm ... and here I have so many memories of paying an admission to get into Ontario Place.

I've had to look at that area from multiple angles several times. It just looks wrong. I'm not an engineer, so smarter people than me obviously know better ... but damn ... your description, 'precarious looking'' (to paraphrase) pretty much nails it.

    Toronto 252 Church | 166.1m | 52s | CentreCourt | Arcadis

Exactly. Market pricing is market pricing, and that is what the market was at the time, correctly or not. The correct price of an asset is whatever the market will pay for it at any given time, no matter where the market moves after that. I agree the price PSF is crazy, but that is more on...

    Toronto Canary House | 50.3m | 13s | Dream | BDP Quadrangle

Those crazy colours have grown on me big time. When I first saw them I wasn't a fan ... but I like them now. We always want bold and they gave us bold! Won't fly with everyone though of course ...

Toronto The Charles at Church | 152.7m | 47s | Aspen Ridge | BDP Quadrangle

I fully agree. There are some failed attempts to be sure, but most is well done with the result being much more depth and character than if it was not used (look at the new TD Terrace building for example and compare the façadism side with the non-facadism side). The side where they preserved...

Toronto The Charles at Church | 152.7m | 47s | Aspen Ridge | BDP Quadrangle

I personally like it. There is enough depth from the facias to the base of the tower that you get a feeling of the heritage buildings still existing on their own. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Building is nice so far imo.

Toronto George Brown College: Limberlost Place | 52.5m | 10s | George Brown | Moriyama Teshima Architects

Happened across an interesting article on problems being experienced with timber buildings. It's on Bloomberg, but I believe you can read a few articles free per week...

Wow ... from far enough away, the maple leaf is actually kinda cool.

I actually quite like the new interior.

    Toronto Burke Condominiums | 163.4m | 53s | Concert | Arcadis

No, the buildings are fine, as are the units inside them (assuming proper. maintenance for both). I'm referencing how they used to be built on oversized grass plots away from the connecting sidewalk, which I guess might be described as a suburban style ...

Great shots @flavakid32 . Also, a reminder how badly designed apartment neighbourhoods in the city used to be, looking at all the older buildings close by.

    Toronto 357 King West | 148.13m | 42s | Great Gulf | BDP Quadrangle

I like how it's come together down there ... at least on those two photos.

    Toronto 55C: 55 Charles Condos | 167m | 50s | MOD Developments | a—A

Agreed. I think it looks great in person. Nicely finished and well executed.

Toronto The Charles at Church | 152.7m | 47s | Aspen Ridge | BDP Quadrangle

Any idea what is expected to go into the old victorian heritage portions of the building along Church and also Charles? Wondering if it'll be professional, retail, residential, or a mix ...

Ivy Condos (Dream) - Real Estate

A lot of buildings turn on AC around or on June 1st. Might just be slow to turn it on ...

    Toronto 8 Wellesley | Residences at Yonge | 182.15m | 55s | CentreCourt | Arcadis

What is the hate for that interesting rule? Seems to me that it resulted in some pretty cool new designs, including this tower. Personally I love it. Isn't a similar rule also what they used in NYC back in the day for setbacks to provide more light below?

It 'looks' like they are working on reopening that closed Yonge St lane I believe? Or is that just my own desire-bias?
