Every single venue in Toronto has open calendar dates, nothing is 100% booked. Top venues might have weekends fully booked a year out but so many venues are idle during weekdays. There is absolutely no reason that esports needs a dedicated venue, it's 100% a gimmick, esport events can be hosted...

Ya, i hope this dies. This was a trojan horse project, using esports as a gimmick to push through a terrible hotel on exhibition lands. The city needs to smarten up, especially after Hotel X next door, complete disaster.

This makes me believe you've never been down there before. The entire waterfront area around there- trillium park, ontario place, martin goodman trail, etc... are all buzzing with people every single day. Even during the winter on sunny days, there are masses of people down at trillium...

If you took that $600million and spent it on restoring the ontario place pods, clearing out old structures and landscaping the islands into a park space... you'd probably still have $500million leftover.
