A few photo today as well. Snapped when I was taking the streetcar from the Kingsway.

And a few randoms from August walking toward and along the water front downtown.

Post your pictures of Toronto here!

A week ago from around Sunnyside. Click for larger photo. I do have the original, which is about four times the size if someone wants it. ;) And from the pedestrian bridge crossing over the Gardiner from Roncesvalles.

Licenses and plates may loom for Toronto cyclists

If only the police force would actually enforce the laws that already exist. I see bicycles ride past cops on the side walks all the time, and the officers could care less. The City really should encourage people to be using transit, bicycles, and walking. Instead, they will just look toward...

Is there some kind of fly / bug invasion going on last week or so ?

Not nearly as bad as a few years ago around the foot of the Humber. All the way up to Windemere, you'd be swarmed with gnats. And the closer to the water you moved, the thicker the swarms. I haven't seen any this summer.

    Toronto Ripley's Aquarium of Canada | 13.11m | 2s | Ripley Entertainment | B+H

I guess we'll have to shoot for Fisherman's Wharf level? I kid, I kid. Looks like there won't be much green space left around the CN Tower when it's all said and done, although I'm excited to have an aquarium in the city. Ripley's has plenty of experience with this, with some of their...

Fords Working to Fire Webster, Stintz, Scrap Streetcars: Star

Disagree with the Ford Mayors, get the axe. The moment they start ripping up streetcar tracks for permanent removal, I might just implode.

Reasons to Feel Good About Toronto

I really enjoy Toronto's ravine system, which I'm not sure many people even know exist. Outside of the core, the city is amazingly green, with plenty of parks around every corner. I always make it a habit to explore different parts of the city whenever I have time. Toronto is so large, even...

Net Neutrality / Internet Throttling Debate

I've no confidence the Conservatives will live up to their end of things, and save us from the CRTC's blatant agenda, and/or stupidity. Tony Clement, prior to the elections, was none stop on Twitter going on about how they were going to fight the CRTC and keep net neutrality alive. Now he's...

    Movies that feature Toronto

Scott Pilgrim actually takes place in Toronto. Literally. It's not trying to be New York, or Chicago, which is always nice to see. There are a bunch of great shots of the city streets, CN Tower, Casa Loma, etc. I'll always remember the original Resident Evil film as well, and the shots of the...

From Humber Marshes Park / King's Mill Park earlier this month. The last two taken from the Queensway going over the Humber.

    Next mayor of Toronto?

Wong-Tam is definitely the most popular candidate put forward, if you were to go by Facebook / Twitter mentions that she 'should' run.

First shot is from April 11th, second is from May 13th. Near Ellis Avenue, entering High Park territory.

City fed up with uncoordinated utility work

Only semi-related, but I've noticed crews around Swansea finally finishing sidewalks they've been ripping up for the better part of three years. Better late than never I guess, but there are a ton of other neighborhoods with the same issue. Slapping down cheap, uneven asphalt not only looks bad...

    GTA handed Conservatives their majority

If there's any bright side to all of this, it's that Toronto's representation in Ottawa will increase. And if you guys think this is the world ending, just wait until the Provincial elections. Sadly, McGuinty and the Liberals deserve nothing less.

    Planning on moving to TO

We live in Swansea and pay less than $900 per month for a larger 1br apartment all inclusive. We're within easy walking distance of multiple bus routes and the 501 Streetcar.. and we're a 20 minute walk from the subway. You can even find decent apartments closer to downtown for a similar price...

These are from the last couple of years in and around Swansea.. one for every season.

    What's your Walk Score?

Pretty terrible. I would expect Swansea to score 'decently', but it doesn't even register any parks in the area of which there are a ton.

Net Neutrality / Internet Throttling Debate

Another hearing @ 330-530 pm, featuring TekSavvy's Rocky Gaudrault & George Burger, Primus' Matt Stein, Jean-Francois Mezei (the sexy Habs fan from Vaxination Informatique), and many more. Not sure if this one will stream live on CPAC, but I hope so.

Net Neutrality / Internet Throttling Debate

Indeed. And it's not just about the speed, it's about the cost. We pay the highest cost in the world for internet among developed nations. Let's not even mention our cell phones..
