    Lines up with it perfectly though by the street grid. Only reinforces the point of the name being chosen due to "confusion" of there being no Steeles station

    They were opened before the "West" for corresponding stations on the later Spadina line was a thing. The change to "Pioneer Village" was almost for sure a "confusion" avoidance thing.

    That's why the name no longer "works" as it did when the area was still rural and Maple was the nearest town. Not to mention it's actually Hope this far north and that its now in the urbanized City of Vaughan.

    I wonder if it will be renamed "Vaughan" from "Maple" as that would make sense in the modern context of Vaughan. Most people will most likely start thinking of this area as being Woodbridge anyways (although that's ridiculously stretching it, but that's Vaughan for you) as it gets developed...
