It's the old Federal Building on Main St. (right near Hess Village). Years ago, Darko Vranich bought it for a condo conversion. Like most of Vranich's projects, that never happened, now he's tearing it down for some vague condo proposal. I assume it'll be another parking lot.

The excellent commentary more than makes up for any lack of photography skills. However, the photos illustrated things very well, so you have nothing to worry about.

Ottawa has bay and gables too, but they have larger yards and elements of the Ottawa vernacular, like giant two storey porches. Ottawa's Centretown is full of townhouses with some variation of the bay and gable.
