    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

^ Did you happen to read the tree tags to see what they planted? If not, does anyone not what those are? Obviously difficult without leaves. Same with the ground covers. Are the evergreens some kind of cypress?

They're a carbon copy of the Leafs. Young, tons of talent, lack maturity and the ability to get the job done in big moments.

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

While the Jays were in a rain delay yesterday, I watched a bit of the Rangers game from Globe Life Field. It did not look much better than the dome. The field looked worse (full of seams) which Rogers Centre has done away with. It just had that hollow feel that happens with a closed roof. This...

Not exactly. Skydome was built how it was built for a reason, people loved modern at the time. It opened with great fanfare and success, it just happened to be at the end of an era. Camden Yards opened up and things flipped to the retro look. If you look at some of the new ballparks being built...

Cobourg has been growing quite a bit. There are developments on all sides of it and downtown.

I don't think this could be really compared to Bloor St. The flora in the Portlands should have every reason to thrive, except for road side plantings as always. I'm not sure if the city or province did the planting at Trillium Park at Ontario Place but I would say most things are thriving there...

What an awesome project this is. Some damn fine city building if you ask me.

Whether you still dislike it or not this is why you wait to see what the final product is going to look like. I swear half the posts in these threads are of people bitching about things that are cleared up come completion time.

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

Disgusting? They are providing a free to use service they could pull the plug on tomorrow if they felt like it.

Amazing project. However one major negative. Right beside a waste water treatment plant.

Not thrilled with this one. As mentioned the heart will be empty half the year collecting garbage and who knows what not all. The heart also takes up too much of the space. Beyond that why sit and look at this little heart when you can sit and look at one of the largest lakes in the world across...

    The Toronto Tree Thread

I would imagine areas further from the Lake would start to change colour first. The moderating effect of Lake Ontario means warmer Autumn nights closer to the lakeshore and less threat of frost.

    The Toronto Tree Thread

I live in Cobourg and one neat thing the arborist and parks department has done is to keep the little tag on new trees so you can see what they are. There is a major push to diversify the tree stock. Three I noticed yesterday were Maidenhair Ginkgo Biloba, Sycamore London Planetree and Tulip...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

It's 6 lanes well passed Bowmanville to Cobourg. As we speak an additional 8 km of highway is being 6 laned east of Cobourg. Slowly but surely it is happening.

I mean I'm sure they worked hard and all but that was pretty terrible.

That would be fine and all but then again you don't have to live there. I'm sure the people LIVING in it will appreciate their balconies.

I agree with this 100%. Everybody loves leafy trees but the fact is they are drab barren sticks for half of the year. Why don't we see more evergreens? It's like the winter months are completely ignored.
