    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 351.85m | 106s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

It would be so fun to have one of those Liberty Village balconies just 30 feet away from the construction site for the next 10 years! Wooohooo!

Post your pictures of Toronto here!

Looking east from downtown, only the 215 metre tall superstack of the mighty Hearn is visible in this morning's fog. @TwinHuey is out there somewhere!

    Toronto skyline

@kotsy owns the fog. So my skyline fog shot this morning is merely a homage to him. 🍺

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Love to see the police reports on each one of those accidents. Betcha almost all of the the pedestrian/cyclist is at fault.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Sure do. Take that route daily. I guess I could run all the lights and stop signs like most cyclists do so this shouldn't really bother me, but I tend to obey the laws so this will slow me down for sure. I love powering across on Power Street when there's a gap in traffic on Richmond and...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I'm everything. And that's what people can't undestand. It's not cars vs bikes or cars vs pedestrians. I'm MOSTLY on a bicycle. Second most a pedestrian and least frequently (usually just a bit on weekends) a motorist. But this is just dumb infrastructure.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Weird how walking in front of fast moving cars will get you hurt. What's it called, "Personal responsibility?" Oh no wait, that's not a thing anymore.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Jaywalking itself isn't strictly illegal in Toronto if you cross an uncontrolled street without interfering with anyone. However, under Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 950-300B, you are legally required to yield the right-of-way to all vehicles unless you are at a marked pedestrian crossover or...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Seven years ago a jaywalker illegally crossing 4 lanes of traffic was hit, so by all means lets accommodate them and put a signalized intersection there.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

If increasing congestion to discourage driving is the goal then the what they're building along Power street at Richmond and Adelaide will accomplish that nicely. But let's just be honest about it. Let's stop pretending it's about encouraging cycling, or protecting pedestrians or any of the...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I thought Ford said no new bike lanes? This is new bike lanes taking out a lane of car traffic.

Doesn't Metrolinx have a reputation for the exact opposite? Plane Jane utility?

China would do the whole thing in one night with 10,000 workers. I've seen the YouTube videos.

^^^^ Good perspective shot. Yeah, I'm all for the 'showy arch' But I just smile because the above shot shows it's not 'necessary' as in there's a way more utilitarian way of spanning that gap right next door. And Metrolinx could have done the exact same for the Ontario Line. Just makes me...

Toronto Ontario Line 3 | Metrolinx

Can't wait for them to re-establish the lower Don Trail as it goes under those bridges and comes out at Lakeshore. I guess that's many, many years away, but that will be such a sweet direct route to the lake.

Toronto Ontario Line 3 | Metrolinx

Hey I just noticed, how come the GO tracks don't have a big fancy bridge? From an engineering perspective it looks like the big white bridge isn't 'needed' at all. Is it all just for show? Looks like the exact same span can just be spanned with a simple 'plank' across it like the GO bridge...
