This really should be a Simcoe County Linx service, all they have to do is create an express branch of the Route 2 to go direct to Allandale. It doesn’t work right now because the Midland and Orillia buses only go to Georgian College, requiring another fare to transfer to Barrie Transit.

The Conestoga is also that rare highway that made the urban area better. Having most of the traffic sent there off King and Weber made it a lot easier to built the Ion LRT and focus the high density around it.

Probably the end of some scheduled college/university extras on routes like 25, 30, 88 and the 407 routes. Those are marked in the schedules, but with exams wrapping up soon, April 13 sounds about right.

I took a look at the system map, and if they were junking those four routes – which really are redundant especially as ridership is down – it’d hardly be an issue. But the cut to the 5 is bad, especially when Bovaird should be a core route and the 505 isn’t especially frequent especially off...

With McCowan, the question becomes where do you loop the YRT bus? Right at Steeles or nearby Alton Towers, or go as far as Sandhurst Circle/Woodside? There’s no immediately logical place to terminate the route on the south end, at least until the Scarborough Subway Extension is completed...
