Toronto Cherry House at Canary Landing | 50.32m | 13s | Dream | COBE Architects

And the Shoppers windows will be mostly covered in vinyls of smiling people. That was exactly my point.

The Canrary was without both a grocery and a drug store. Both have now been remedied.

    Toronto One Front | 170.86m | 49s | Larco | a—A

Interesting. I don't think it really bothers me either. It's a bit of a block killer, albeit a pretty one. This may provide a bit of life. Unreleated, but I do remember there was once a rumour that this building would be Toronto's first Nordstrom store. Imagine if that had come about!

    Canada and the World

Despite my Orange routes, I do hope that an eventual United Ireland will come with IE joining NATO (and perhaps the Commonwealth too, to appease the Unionists).

President Donald Trump's United States of America

The NFL also has the most conservative fanbase of the big four leagues, so especially nice to hear that chorus.

    Hudson's Bay Company

There are rumours that Queen Street, between Church and York, could remain permanently closed to vehicles even after the Ontario Line opens. This would create an expansive civic precinct linking City Hall, Old City Hall (soon to potentially house the Toronto Museum), the Cenotaph, and a...

    Hamilton TD Coliseum Renovations | ?m | 4s | OVG | BBB

In my mind, West Harbour seemed quite a bit further. But yeah, now that I look at it, it's not that different. Still, it would be nice to get a few off-peak trains downtown at some point, when it makes sense.

    Eurovision in Canada

Canada’s path to Eurovision would likely begin with CBC/Radio-Canada becoming a full member of the European Broadcasting Union — not an impossible step, since they’re already an affiliate. Our regional counterpart, NABA, already collaborates closely with the EBU on a range of international...

    Hamilton TD Coliseum Renovations | ?m | 4s | OVG | BBB

It’d be great if Metrolinx could arrange for a GO train to depart Hamilton Centre roughly 20 minutes after major events at TD Coliseum. Without that, few will make the extra trip to West Harbour, and most will likely choose to drive instead.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Toronto is only 800,000 people behind L.A.-proper. We could surpass it as North America's third larget city in our lifetimes. It's unlikely we'd ever pass L.A.'s metro though.

They do offer a Kirby Cortado though! ☕

I think the TYSSE opened on Dec. 17, so it may not matter much regarding the holiday season.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Doug knows Chicago well — it’s got a decent subway system but not much in the way of frequent surface transit. There are no streetcars, and only a few scattered bus-priority lanes. It’s probably where a lot of his thinking about transit comes from.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Good to know — I prefer it that way. Plus, there’s the little shortcut behind the Humane Society that gets you down there faster (IYKYK).

Is Lower Bayview expected to go back to two-way for vehicles on this happens?

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

I honestly think the Rogers Centre is decent, at least for a generation. They should do two fairly easy things though... Give something back to the city and rename it Rogers SkyDome Work on animating the outside a bit. Player statues, working fountains, ivy growing on the concrete, an outdoor...

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Front Street has never really received the civic attention it deserves—at least not along this stretch. The section between Union and Spadina, in particular, feels overdue for a thoughtful reimagining.

And as someone in podcasting, downloads don't mean squat anymore. Millions of podcasts are downloaded everyday automatically to people's phones. It doesn't mean they are listening to them though.

    Simons

I got the sense they were temporary as the proper ones hadn't arrived yet. They were alrady peeling off, as you noted.

Aren’t strong mayor powers limited to issues the province deems important?
