    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

Given recent polling, it's not ensured that Freeland gets re-elected in University-Rosedale, so it's good she has some fallback options.

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

At this point, does Trudeau even make it into the new year as Liberal leader?

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

Wow. This is giving flashbacks to the Chretien-Martin civil war.

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

Liberal Housing Minister Sean Fraser, who I'm sure many of you are familiar with, is stepping down from cabinet and not running for re-election. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/sean-fraser-leaving-cabinet-1.7411260

    Distillery District

Question for locals: Is this the busiest Christmas Market to date? I was in Corktown last weekend and was taken aback by the car traffic coming from the district.

    Return to office discussion

Interesting article about Ottawa public servants who are able to use federal co-working spaces closer to home to avoid long commutes. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/federal-public-servants-vie-for-prized-co-working-spaces-to-avoid-downtown-commute-1.7407595 My work recently hired a...

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

According to the city website, they're holding the same waterfront fireworks display, so I'm not sure the city learned their lesson. https://www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/festivals-events/new-years-eve/

With New Year's Eve less than three weeks away, I hope Metrolinx is reviewing its practices, including staffing and crowd control, from last year. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/metrolinx-ttc-criticized-for-new-year-s-eve-crowd-management-at-union-station-1.7072645

    Oakville 420 South Service Road East | 148.5m | 48s | Rose Corp | Graziani + Corazza

The city is pushing for development around the Oakville GO Station over Downtown (old) Oakville. It's highly unlikely we will see development above midrise height in Downtown Oakville any time soon, due in large part to rabid local opposition to even modest development.

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

I'm disappointed that Cadillac Fairview didn't at least save the smaller of the two buildings. I always thought it could be an arts or community hub. Original photo from NiceForWhat.

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

Very frustrating. We've needed a King-Liberty Station since yesterday. @Northern Light, can you confirm where the $200M figure comes from?

    Toronto 808 Mt Pleasant | 204.55m | 61s | Reserve Properties | Sweeny &Co

To think that 44 storeys was unthinkable here less than a decade ago. :p

    Oakville 420 South Service Road East | 148.5m | 48s | Rose Corp | Graziani + Corazza

This community lost me at "Service Road." Happy to see the heritage building preserved, though.

Agreed. I'm overall impressed with the project.

    Toronto 19 Bloor West | 317.4m | 99s | Reserve Properties | Arcadis

I find the slightly sloped crown very peculiar. It should be at a steeper angle or not exist at all.

The City of Toronto's new Chief Planner is..... Jason Thorne

I'm an acquaintance with someone who works in the Hamilton planning office. He spoke very highly of Thorne, and said that he was a fresh face among the typical old boys network of senior city staff, and was approachable in the hallway and in the community. He was a big champion of the Hamilton...
