That's quite the revision. Nice curves and it's good to see a highrise without balconies. Not sure about the red yet but I agree it's refreshing to see some colour.

I quite miss that old Italian marble facade of FCP, the building has really lost some appeal for me without it.

In terms of cladding I'm probably more curious how this tower turns out than any other right now. Judging from that photo it is appropriately set back enough from the older Yonge facades that it doesn't seem to overwhelm, it looks like a separate project in fact.

I like the tapered form and triangular facets on the taller building. It's going to look very dramatic- especially from the islands.

Neat looking building- is it a museum? I'm pretty much through lamenting what should have been done at the ROM though. It's external appearance has grown on me- lets just push and hope for improvements to the interior. The new entrance looks awesome.

    Toronto YC Condos -- Yonge at College | 198.42m | 62s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

The tower itself is pretty much on par with the average point tower going up. That said the bar is pretty low- rectangular box with balconies and spandrel. It's at street level where it turns into a cluttered mess, just trying too hard to do something with materials that inherently look cheap...

    Toronto The Residences of 488 University Avenue | 206.95m | 55s | Amexon | Core Architects

Well to be fair- looking at the two photos a full year apart it does seem like very little progress.

Well if they feel their revenues are so adversely affected by this project they should at least provide some evidence of that- I'd at least sympathize to some degree. Otherwise a lot of people will view the road hockey scrum more as self-promotion than clever protest. Not to mention alienating...

The podium and heritage structure alone puts this heads and tails above that dreadful Church street project.

This looks like your average condo podium- it will fit right in.

The hockey game was pretty amusing and a clever protest. Is there a significant decline in business or just a slight drop? I'm sure the min wage increase isn't helping matters for restaurants along there either.

    Allan Gardens Revitalization Plan

What a shame, I was looking forward to seeing that rather large tract of park space being spruced up. Are they shelving the community centre too or is that a separate project?

Indeed, it is also potentially destroying and compromising a previous work by a renowned architect that is among the city's most architecturally significant properties. This complex shouldn't be dominated by hulking grade B architecture.

    Leslie Street Spit

It is supposed to be a good time of year to spot owls there.

That looks great- I especially like the Deco elements around the doorway.

It looks boxy and inelegant from other angles and that pole seems so ridiculous and plonked-on one can't help but chuckle. This design just seems hastily conceived to me. With the loss of Pei's work I certainly hope they move forward with something more sophisticated and inspiring than this.

Gee I wonder what material they'll use to clad the crown- quelle horreur.

    Toronto Richmond Adelaide Centre: 120 & 130 Adelaide West Recladding | 136.85m | 35s | Oxford Properties | WZMH

Ultimately this may not look terrible but judging from the renderings there's surely going to be a lot sameness and probably less interesting. Spandrel seems to work better in black or a very dark gray so it is a shame they didn't go that route. While refreshing the exterior with more modern...
