Church on Church is basically George's Play (with drag queens and such), and Big Johnsons is basically the Village Rainbow (another pub). Starbucks?? Interesting! The current location is so tiny and cramped, and often impossible to find space to work on your laptop. Does the Village really need another piano bar? I didn't think Statlers ever did that well.

I'm a bit late to jump onto this bandwagon, but I too was saddened to see Play close. That place had the best drag queens in town! It was always good fun. Flash is a strip club though, so it seems very different from the drag scene. I'm not quite sure how they're going to meld the two.

Interesting final verdict: Fuzion has closed and is now the Vic Pub. Look what it says on the Fuzion website... http://www.fuzionexperience.com/ I wonder why the change. Maybe Fuzion's prices were just too high and they weren't busy enough? I personally never went because it was too pricey...

I got a flyer in the mail today saying that the new LCBO is opening on March 14th! 4,600 square feet of alcohol, says the flyer. Can't wait!

I agree with the comments about the Village Rainbow. The few times I've gone there the food was very much sub-par (and that "par" is pretty low to begin with). This is a welcomed reno!

There is some crazy ass construction going on at the Idomo site. The back/side has basically been ripped open, and it looks like they're building an addition or something. I have no idea what they're doing!

One question: Why the hell is Church St NOT a heritage district? Is it not worth preserving? I think it's definitely one of those streets that needs some sort of protection.
