    Church-Wellesley Village

I've been lamenting this sad fact as well. There will literally be no dance club in the Village. Montreal's Village is so amazing in comparison. I wish there'd be a venue like Sky Bar in Montreal -- large, multi-use, open all hours of the day, an amazing rooftop patio, and also a great place to...

    Toronto Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Toronto | 203.9m | 52s | Lifetime | a—A

Yet another reason I'm not a fan of this building: The Wind Tunnel. I notice that walking by this building the wind doubles in speed vs Bay St south of the 4 Seasons. It's really awful. Even on a calm day there's this crazy wind that hits you. I think I'm going to start walking on the opposite...

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

I spent a bit of time exploring Aura yesterday afternoon. The Marshall's was surprising big and busy, although it's basically Winners (a store with American-sized clothing that never fits me!). I also wandered down to the underground "Shops at Aura" and gotta say that it looks like it'll be...

    Church-Wellesley Village

Agreed! Whenever I'm in the Village I find it hard to find food that's quick and healthy. Ginger is OK, but otherwise you're left mostly with greasy pub fare. Gimme some salad!!

Beautiful building. But I still can't figure out why some of the balconies STILL have white plywood instead of glass. Isn't construction over? I wonder if there was an issue with the glass orders.

    Church-Wellesley Village

According to the Xtra article, Big Johnson's didn't succeed because the restaurant name was too sexualized and not a good fit for the Village. Um, try again. It failed because the food was mediocre, the service crap, the management seemingly non-existent, the lack of debit or credit machine...

Toronto The Milan Condominium | ?m | 37s | Conservatory Group | Richmond Architects COMPLETE

I agree. It's way too early to pass judgement on projects that are in this phase of development. I get the sense that people like b!tching on here just for the heck of it. Last I checked, there's no prize for being the first to critique a building.

    Church-Wellesley Village

Haha, exactly what I thought. I went to Big J's once, wasn't a fan either. It wasn't run very well. Does new management mean there's a new owner? Or does that just mean they fired the manager and hired a new one, but everything else is basically the same? I never understood that term.

    Church-Wellesley Village

This is true! The whole Jarvis St rejuvenation project began as a pedestrian-improvement project, but was basically hijacked by cycling advocates. I'm not sure why a compromise was never made between cyclists and pedestrians. I'd have loved to see the sidewalk widened, but also a bike lane...

    Toronto Treviso Condos | 91.13m | 24s | Lanterra | P + S / IBI

Yep, it is. I've worked near here for 5 years, and it's really tragic and ugly. Not to mention the ridiculous traffic in this area. Going up Dufferin or along Lawrence during rush hour makes you want to rip your hair out. If you're stuck in traffic on the Lawrence bus, it literally takes 10+...

I quite like the podium here. I think it contributes nicely to the street. Much better than the Four Seasons podium!

I'm surprised they still haven't sold out! That's kind of disconcerting. I saw an ad for the Florian in Toronto Life. I thought by this time there'd be no units left. They are very pricey, if I remember. Most in the $1 million+ range I believe. The tower does look amazing. One thing that I...

    Toronto Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Toronto | 203.9m | 52s | Lifetime | a—A

I agree with the comments about the podium. It really is cold and uninviting. There is minimal landscaping on Bay St. It just looks like a cement and black slate alleyway. There is absolutely nothing to captivate a pedestrian's attention, and nothing exciting to look at. No planters, no...

    Church-Wellesley Village

Oh interesting info! Too bad about Sweet Lulu, although I think I only ever went there once. Glad to see the Reither's space get filled up, and at least it's not with the generic pub/bar. The tea shop could be interesting! And the Stag Shop is always fun... ;). I wonder if they'll do well being...

    Toronto Vox Condominiums | 115.82m | 35s | Cresford | a—A

Wow, this definitely is a bad development from a planning perspective. Way too big for the site. There isn't enough separation from the adjacent tower. This really doesn't adhere to the built form principle in the OP or the Tall Building Guidelines. Bad bad bad. This is simply about the...

    Who Will Challenge Rob Ford?

I saw Karen Stintz on the Agenda (TVO) last night. She was on a panel that was discussing Rob Ford half way through his term. Boy was she ever dishing out some strong criticism! I have no doubt that she's making a serious bid to run.

I did as well! I was using Chrome. I just ignored it and proceeded anyways. Everything seems to be fine though.
