    lmao!!!!!!

This became a huge issue for me too. I've said it before, but this tower has created a ridiculous wind tunnel. I intentionally avoid walking north on Bay Street because of it. Huge fail with respect to the wind study analysis. Last year they had a patio set up along the south and west side of...

    Church-Wellesley Village

Holy crap! They've merged the patios! Not a bad idea. Let's hope they don't just open for Pride, make a quick buck, then close after the summer. It's a prime spot; it'd be good to see this space actually used. Maybe they can turn this into a covered/heated patio in the winter. And maybe they can...

    Church-Wellesley Village

They laid that stone down pretty darn fast! I walked by the other day and those weren't there. As for how they look...it's questionable. We'll see when the whole design is complete. Maybe they'll look better after a bit of wear and tear??

    Church-Wellesley Village

This is really sad. Not because I'm a huge fan of the place (although it's fun from time to time), but because there's so few places left to dance. I hate to throw out the "decline of the gay village" theory but it seems more and more that we're falling onto that path. What are we left with in...

I love the Florian! Great cured shape, high quality materials, marble cladding at the podium, metallic pillars, etc. Definitely different from many of the boring glass boxes going up. As for the Yorkville, this thing is going up crazy fast! It's looking quite good. It actually looks like the...

While I don't mind the design of the building as a whole or the interesting orientation of the balconies, I think what disappoints is the cheap looking glass/spandrel/finishes. It definitely looks like they cheaped out on the podium, using too many bland grey panels instead of real glass. I...

    Toronto The Pemberton | 215.79m | 68s | Pemberton | a—A

I'd have to agree with the Design Panel. The base of this building is enormous! Cool design though, but it'll overwhelm Yorkville Ave.

    loud motorcycles

Ban the shit out of these loud things. They serve no purpose but to disrupt neighbourhoods and give people near heart-attacks. I remember feeling like my heart skipped a beat on several occasions. They are loud and obnoxious and serve no benefit to the city.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this building. Compared to the nearby Milan Tower, this stands out. It looks like they've actually made an effort with the podium and the vertical maroon columns. I still love the Florian and think it's a shame this building will hide that stunner of a building, but...

    Church-Wellesley Village

Exactly my point. I meant the vibe of the Village as a whole. Among other things, the Village serves as a place of fun, entertainment and nightlife. A condo will likely bring complaints about noise and late-night activity from residents (recall the Alexander Street bench issue brought up by...

    Captain John's Restaurant (1975-2012)

This thing needs to be burned down! It's disgusting and survived well beyond it's life! I can't believe he's counter-suing. Ugh

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

I agree that the downstairs retail shop area is pretty horrific. Not only is it difficult to access from College Park (up and down flights of stairs and through how many sets of doors?), but it's very much like a flea-market. It's sort of sad seeing the retailers standing outside or in the...

    Church-Wellesley Village

Not sure if this has been posted before, but the Pizza Pizza building at the corner of Church/Wellesley is in the process of being designated a heritage building. The report is going to council on January 15th. I'm glad to see this happen. While that building has been neglected and is falling...

    Church-Wellesley Village

Agreed 100%. I loved the parklets. I enjoyed several dinners on them over the summer. I loved Priape -- they had tonnes of items tailored for gay men. The excessive complaining/hating on this thread is turning me off.

    Church-Wellesley Village

True, at least not yet. I was there yesterday and several trees have been cut, but a bunch of others are fenced off (does that mean they're staying?). I'm hoping they're almost done, although it doesn't seem like 27 have been cut. Are there even 27 trees in the park??

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

Holy crap this thing is getting huge! How many storeys are left?

Toronto The Milan Condominium | ?m | 37s | Conservatory Group | Richmond Architects COMPLETE

Looks like there are just 3 or 4 storeys to go. The balconies and layouts have changed on the top 4 floors that have been built. From the renderings, I see only 6 of these floors. I think the balcony glass will make/break this building. Not bad so far though.

    Church-Wellesley Village

Agreed 100%. There are always people who will complain about almost anything. I like the vibrant colours. The LGBTQ community is all about diversity, and having fun with colours is one of the easiest, most overt ways to do that. Should they have painted them jet black or left them as unpainted...

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

+1! Thank god I don't come on this board more often because I'd be one depressed mofo. I agree that Aura is looking better than before with more of the glass being installed and the ever-rising height.
