    Restaurant Tipping Etiquette

I come from a country that doesn't tip but my stance is that if I am picking up my food from a restaurant after pre-ordering, that I don't tip as no real service has been provided. Sure, they cooked the meal, but I'm already paying for that with the price of the meal. Is at all how you natives...

Plans to fill in Allen Road

I don't think people who say Allen is slow actually take the Allen. I come from Bathurst and St. Clair and almost exclusively take the Allen going east or west at the 401. Doing 80–100 km/h on the Allen is considerably faster than doing 50–60 km/h on Bathurst plus the usual constant stopping at...

    Fish & Chips!

Anyone tried The Battered Fish on Queen near St. Andrew? Seems to be a fairly new place.

    TTC Cartography, Signage, and Wayfinding

There is an easy and better solution to this whole "which colour bulb" debate: Easier to understand., doesn't require the replacement of stupid little bulbs, and more importantly, is future-proof against any changes to the system, e.g., having to replace every single map in every single...

    Byford and Keesmaat Departure Countdown...?

I'm not sure they measure racism when doing they're doing the "world's best/most livable cities" list.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Thanks. I rarely, if ever, go on the TTC website. It's just not good.

    TTC Cartography, Signage, and Wayfinding

I don't know, the orange bulbs for the interchanges are already severely worn out on most trains I see as they are always on for reasons unknown — the interchanges are pretty easy to see on the map, I really don't think they need to be a different colour. They really should've gone with a...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I heard a talking bus for the first time the other day. It was a 90 Vaughan bus and when it pulled up to the stop, a female voice stated "90 Vaughan to St. Clair West station". There was a speaker on the side of the bus above the orange "kneeling bus" sign to the left of the door. Is this some...

    Toronto 2015 Pan American Games

Motorsport Park seems like a pain in the ass to get to if you're coming from out of town and don't have a car.

Canadian Soccer Association to bid for 2026 World Cup

So, you're saying I should cheer for Canada, where I have only lived for five years, versus cheering for Australia, where I was born and raised for 24 years and am a citizen of? Also curious what makes you think they didn't travel from Ghana for the tournament? Did you interview them all personally?

Who really cares whether an announcement is done by a computer or a pre-recorded human? The same message is still conveyed clearly.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Another water main break inside a TTC station this morning. This time, St. Clair. Seems a little unusual this keeps happening.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I may have missed this as I glanced over the conversation about far-side boarding, but if a streetcar goes through an intersection and stops to pick-up/let off passengers, won't all the cars behind following block the intersection as the light turns red as they wait for the streetcar doors to...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

    Wi-Fi service underground

What are you talking about? Wi-fi and cell phone signal/data are two completely different things. As long as you have a data plan on your phone (which will pretty much be everybody by the time this is installed), you can check Twitter and whatnot while in the station.

    Toronto 2015 Pan American Games

So, now that the Canadian women's soccer team are Olympic bronze medallists, how do we reach Tourism Toronto to vent our anger about their stupidity over signing an exclusivity agreement for the Pan Am Games, thus denying any Women's World Cup games to be played in Toronto?

Toronto Gets A New Outdoor Concert Venue

Whoever thought it was a good idea to build a venue on sand is a moron. Hopefully a band I like never plays here, as it is just terrible.
