Good catch. Looks like those are right turn/bus pocket lanes, with bus stops at nearside and farside. In that case, it's a standard configuration - 2 through lanes, 1 right turn lane(through lane for bus), 1 left turn lane.

If done right, from McCowan, line 4 can easily be extended to serve Malvern without much tunneling.

Doesn't that create the same concern we have with line 5? Mixing street running with a full garde separated section.

The dividing line is around Victoria Park Av. Anywhere east of that, it is faster to transfer to an extended line 4. Density on Finch East is also very nodal; meaning most of its ridership in Scaborough can easily be absorbed by line 4.

That section is a tough one (cost wise). There's a creek at Bayview, and the East Don is a deep ravine.
