    Marino's Dealerships (630 Kipling, 4s, Eightspace)

After talking with a volvo salesperson, the existing volvo, landrover, jaguar dealer is going to be taken over completely by Volvo after some sort or renovation.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Came across this great piece that talks about the London station design. Wish TTC would take design as serious as other cities. http://content.tfl.gov.uk/station-design-idiom-2.pdf

Here are updated renderings from the application. Looks much better than the previous concept. I live nearby and think this is a great addition to Dundas.

    Toronto QRC West (Queen Richmond Centre West) | 71.93m | 17s | Allied | Sweeny &Co

My company moved into this office just over a month ago. We're still finalizing some of the interior construction due to glass shortages. Our space is coming along pretty nice though. This is the view from one of our west facing meeting rooms...

    Toronto Brant Park | 35.36m | 11s | Lamb Dev Corp | a—A

They haven't installed the white cladding yet. My office is across the street and they've been installing insulation panels slowly first and as you see in the photos, the metal panels don't yet have insulation on them. Looking at frame on the penthouse towards the east side, you can see that...

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

They could build an Olympic stadium using mixed use buildings as the outside ring. Insert some temporary stands for all the seating and then when it's over, use the field as a massive open square with the olympic cauldron as the centerpiece. Use the buildings as the media center/olympic village.

Stockyards, The (30 Weston Rd. @ St. Clair, retail, Trinity, 2s, GreenbergFarrow)

Loblaws is definitely under represented in the area. The Roncesvalles location is very dated and the Dundas and Jane is quite small. A massive Supercentre type Loblaws location would do well in this area.

The brick looks like it's sagging. I think it's definitely a safety issue.

I'm sure it's been mentioned already but I really think they installed the balcony glass incorrectly. Wouldn't it look much better if all the different shades lines up the angles so the same angles would use the same glass? It would give each unique angle a focal point and probably enhance the...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Another genius Hudak idea today.. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ontario-votes-2014/tim-hudak-vows-to-scrap-light-rail-lines-cancel-go-electrification-1.2645690

Let's get back on topic please. Good to hear we're finally adopting the ISO standard signs. It's also important that the colours are green vs. red. Red typically representing an error or a stop or problem. I guess I should start collecting red exit signs to sell as antiques.

Pretty boring as usual. Something I'd expect to see from a level 2 English club.

    TTC: Redesigning TTC Signage

Another failed ripoff of the New York system. I'm happy that there is more mention of using the TTC typeface but I just don't have faith they'll use it properly. Their in-house design team needs some design education. All of their work looks like it was designed in powerpoint. If anyone wants...

    Sightings ...

I saw Chris Cooper get out of a car on King St. W outside the Firkin. That's about it though.

    Toronto 300 Front Street West | 156.05m | 49s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

While I hate the cladding in general, I'm not sure why Tridel didn't match the balcony glass colour to that of the windows. It looks terrible.

    Toronto Market Street Redevelopment | ?m | 2s | Woodcliffe | Taylor Smyth

They probably want to maintain a sidewalk next to the retail entrances. The patios could then float out in the street next to the poles. This is very similar to how many patios are handled throughout Europe. Nyhavn in Copenhagen is handled this way.

    Toronto Bay Adelaide Centre | 217.92m | 51s | Brookfield | KPMB

It's a shame they had to block a lane on Adelaide for the construction. Hopefully after the older building is taken apart they can reopen it during construction. Adelaide was finally functional after years of being a parking lot during the construction of BACW, Trump and BMO. They have all of...

    Toronto Fashion House | ?m | 12s | Freed | Core Architects

When did the design of the first setback units change? The columns were never shown being on the outside of the cladding in any renderings. I hope they plan on bringing the cladding back to the outer wall to maintain the original "stacked boxes" look.

    Toronto 629 King Residences (was Thompson Residences) | 53.34m | 15s | Freed | Saucier + Perrotte

Bye bye King Street West. This is going to have the same effect as M5V had on the neighbourhood east of Spadina. I guarantee the current stock of heritage buildings along King St W will be gone in 10 years.
