    Regional Governance Review

Question: If both provincial and federal governments have been "so far left" the past decade, why is income disparity in Toronto growing so quickly? Why is there so much homelessness? Why does infrastructure lag?

    Toronto 191 Bay | 301.74m | 64s | QuadReal | Hariri Pontarini

This is Toronto. The standard for "quality design" is low because of the fact that everything that gets built gets leased or bought. Look at the Bay-Adelaide Centre buildings. Are those quality design? Is Commerce Court 3, an obviously too-fat building, an example of quality design? It seems...

This project is getting more attention than it deserves.

And here is why we get C-level architecture in Toronto. Hyper-capitalism. Everything is looked at through the lens of MAXIMUM ROI. It's OK NOT to make the maximum amount of money possible jaybe. Say it with me now.

I hope the motors and pits can withstand copious amounts of dog piss! I'm guessing they can if rain isn't a problem. Do these things rotate yet?

I think it gets capped when it hits street level just like Trump and 1 Bloor E did.

Not sure how I feel about the crinkly bits. Hope it doesn't push the sculpture into looking like a pile of left-over scrap metal from the construction of the tower ...

Building enclosed rooms on large balcony -- possible or not?

Your board will have to approve and there is minimal chance that is going to happen.

WTF? They actually made it even more boring and basic? Maybe the building is a very smart, self-aware statement. Innovation: Thinking Outside the Box. The box being the building. Maybe they'll put workstations outside?

    Church-Wellesley Village

Church is becoming a total retail/commercial dead-zone due to the following: -high rents -old storefronts -high concentration of marginalized people spilling over from nearby services Fast food chains and banks are pretty much the only hope. It is what it is.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

I never really understood this attack on Doug. If he was selling weed in high school, who cares. We all know good people who sold some weed in high school/college. Maybe if Doug was running on some socially conservative agenda, it would be fair game, but I agree with your take.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

100% this. They are probably already working on the talking points for the next election: "We didn't do x, y and z because we had no idea the books were this bad folks" I really, really dread the precedent set by both the elections of Trump and Ford. Future campaign managers now know they can...

There will be ramps AND a ton of stacked parking.

    How to solve homeless issue?

This is the result of your mind assessing the homeless problem in Toronto? Seriously? Next time please post it where it belongs, on Infowars, next to the thread on the conspiracy of oncologists opposing a cure for cancer.

It's like queuing for the chunky guy to finish up at the urinal and realizing he has no idea his shirt is un-tucked in the back. I don't see anything sleek about this tower; It's too short to achieve the undulating affect, which I presume was the goal.

Seems like the atrium is trying to play off Calatrava's atrium to the South, instead of the actual tower it is serving...

Yay, "new office space for the city"! Can't wait to tell all my friends! When assessing this design, please do so in the following context: - A+ location - A+ money behind the development - A+ rents to be charged - A+ attention and buzz Recognize that the factors at play are optimal for...

    Toronto River & Fifth Condominiums | 130.5m | 37s | Broccolini | Graziani + Corazza

Wow, beyond banal. Also typical G + C. River City is supposed to be a cute little niche of design. Looks like the developer didn't get the memo...
