I replied to your post in the “Toronto Parks†thread (thanks for the suggestion Tewder).

I rarely use balconies but I think most people want them. Otherwise, developers would have gotten rid of balconies in order to maximize indoor space (I presume they do some kind of market research).

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

I think Aura blends in well with the nearby buildings (in the third picture).

Well the tree sculpture in Paris had been removed after it was vandalized. I wonder if some Torontonians would have such extreme reactions :-)!

Sorry I just saw this post. I was going to post further replies but I won't!

Well according to the document in the link below (I think it was prepared to garner support for a park on the 11 Wellesley site), “The City of Toronto has the lowest allocation of park space per person in Canada.†http://torontocentreplan.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/july18_11wellesley.pdf

I mentioned downtown Toronto specifically. I don't dispute that there are neighbourhoods outside downtown that are quite green (although I would not call it “literally a bunch of sky scrapers surrounded as far as the eye can see by forest†- let's not exaggerate :-). I compared downtown...

Toronto Aga Khan Museum + Ismaili Centre | ?m | ?s | Aga Khan Dev. | Maki and Associates

I detest organized religion but an atheist can admire the beautiful architecture of a church or mosque or other forms of art, no? I suggest you pay a visit before making up your mind.

I saw a few other restaurants the last time I was there. I think it's too soon to tell whether or not this underground mall and food court will be successful. By the way, I love the name “Kaiju†- reminds me of Godzilla :-)!

I think a better option is to make the “ghetto†greener. Downtown Chicago is greener than downtown Toronto despite having a lot of buildings/similar weather because of extensive use of planters and landscaped streets/sidewalks.

Look up Royal Bank Plaza and the south wing of AGO :-)!

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

No one knows exactly how many plots the developer has bought and what the development plans are (height of the building, multiple buildings etc.). It's ok to speculate but making criticisms based on speculation is premature.

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

I actually like how Aura looks in all the pictures on the previous page. It looks better from a distance and when looking from either south or north on Yonge.

Yes the front portion of the taller tower looks like an offspring of the other tower (whereas the back portion of the smaller tower resembles the taller tower). Maybe two parents and two children out for a walk :-)?

    Toronto Mirvish Village (Honest Ed's Redevelopment) | 85.04m | 26s | Westbank | Henriquez Partners

Suggesting that all people of a certain ethnic background have identical taste is stereotyping, regardless of whether or not it’s a positive, negative or neutral stereotype.

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

The three towers in the original design were more visually striking in my opinion. But this is a good compromise because it will save the Princess of Wales Theatre and there will be a taller tower. I think the original project was going to take up to seven years. I presume a similar timeline for...
