Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I think the most recent report of LRT vs Skytrain (or whatever name Bombardier is marketing it as these days) is the Metrolinx Benefits Case report from 2009. Costs are then: Base: $452m O1: $1612m O2: $1233m O3: $1404m O4: $1225m Interestingly though is that all Skytrain options have a...

Not sure what he expects when he's councillor of a place designated for growth.

Don't think so. The motion was strongly worded as a suggestion anyways to avoid opening up the master agreement.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

No clue why Metrolinx would only talk about this now. Not to mention they didn't seem to care before what Council said saying "we have an agreement and are sticking to it."

    Toronto Sheppard Garden | 48.98m | 14s | 95 Development | TAES

More mid-rises come to Sheppard! Currently the land is home to a Kia dealership. Site plan will have to conform with the Sheppard East Avenue plan meaning something like this: (south side in the middle between Warden & Bay Mills/Aragon)

    Toronto Hullmark Centre | 167.94m | 45s | Tridel | Kirkor

Indeed. I can see the point of preserving old Willowdale but I'd like to see more of a transition zone from the high rises of Yonge to the single family homes on the other side of the service roads.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

And always loyal Kelly gets Ainslie's job. Perruzza though is an interesting choice to replace Robinson. As a side note I never know what to think about the larger gender issue. It looks bad if women don't hold positions but positions should be based on merit and not given to a women just to...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Oh please it's damn obvious that Robinson got booted for not being loyal enough. Gender is not the issue here.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

You're right that she hasn't come out and said she considering removal but she has said she's looking at all options and will follow due process. Nothing wrong with that. My point is that I don't think we've reached the point where it's an option - save the removal discussion for when any...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I haven't been following the London story but it seems to raise a fair point. If Fontana was charged with breech of trust then where's the outrage there? Ford is hugely unpopular but political positions should be separate from the scandal. All we have against Ford right now is conjecture (very...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

LeDrew was clearly being sarcastic about the absurdity of 2 staffers getting better offers at the same time in the midst of a scandal.

Am I the only one who finds it wrong that we're talking about giving $200K to someone involved in the drug trade?

OLG Toronto/GTA casino proposal (where to put it?)

I agree with the sentiment but since even now the Mayor, who was probably the casino's biggest supporter is declaring it dead, I don't see it as delay tactic as it was with the transit funding vote. Here, I see it has not worthy of a special meeting and it might as well just be postponed to the...

OLG Toronto/GTA casino proposal (where to put it?)

The whole thing has left me jaded. I can't stand hearing that a casino's income will solve funding issues and I can't stand being told that it will destroy the city. I really don't care either way on a casino; I guess the politicking on both sides has put me off.

OLG Toronto/GTA casino proposal (where to put it?)

Looks like council is going through the trouble of reinstating the special meeting next week. Don't see what the point is when it's clearly a dead issue other than to score political points.

OLG Toronto/GTA casino proposal (where to put it?)

The money that was supposed to come from OLG expansion was needed to balance the budget by 2017. Also ironically after all the stupidity about OLG execs getting fat paychecks Godfrey will end up with a fat severance.
