    Toronto Bloor Street Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Bloor-Yorkville BIA | architectsAlliance

5th avenue doens't really have awesome streetscaping at all. Nothing compared to Omotesando: Maybe once the trees grow up a bit in 30 years and after the next refurbishment Bloor will be that nice.

    Luxury Condos everywhere ......

I was talking about condos, so if you live in a big condo where all the conditions I said are standard in every unit on every floor (not upgraded), then yes it's a luxury building FOR TORONTO.

River Park & Uptown Market (Uptown Markham Phase 1, Times Group, multiple up to 20s, Kirkor) COMPLETE

I know this is an old post, but hey I just found this thread. You are aware that Highway 7 in this area is already 4 lanes right? There's just a median for turning lane (which could easily be eliminated) and ridiculously wide shoulders. I agree with you though that if development were to...

    Luxury Condos everywhere ......

Another way of seeing it is... in Toronto luxury means anything where a Subzero fridge, at least Miele appliances, a parking spot and 10-12 foot ceilings are standard in every unit on every floor. For true luxury of course we'd have to say a private parking spot like the ones at Shangri-La that...

We probably looked at the same unit, I liked the view at least.

    Toronto Spire Condos | 144.77m | 45s | Context Development | a—A

To those of you that live in this building, was wondering if you could give me some insight. I'm (like many others) am looking for a unit in Sp!ire. I've heard from someone I know in real life that rented from there that the windows are quite drafty and as such, quite loud and cold whenever the...

    Markham World on Yonge | ?m | 31s | Liberty Development | Kirkor Architects

Well if they want to build it, I guess it would happen. Thought you meant like Libery should build a persian mall or something into the base of their condos:) Biggest problem is, this area is pretty expensive to build on, and unlike the Chinese malls, they don't have billionaire property...

    Markham World on Yonge | ?m | 31s | Liberty Development | Kirkor Architects

I think this area of Toronto is still very much in flux. It's hard to say which community will be dominant in the future or whether it will continue. By having a specific mall for each group would be a mistake. Best to just have a mall out there, and see what happens IMO. It would be good if...

    Toronto Bloor Street Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Bloor-Yorkville BIA | architectsAlliance

Well the thing is, this stretch of Bloor is nowhere near the level of the Magnificent Mile. You just can't compare. We can overspend and make the outside really pretty, but that won't change the composition of the stores, and how much money people are willing to spend. At most, you can...

    The Mayor Miller appreciation thread

Because he won, John Tory lost and then went into provincial politics, guaranteeing that the Tories won't win in Ontario for another 10 years. Good stuff! Oh that and Transit City and waterfront improvements.

    Toronto Humber River Hospital | ?m | 14s | HRRH | HDR

Didn't it cost them $1,000,000,000 to build that new hospital in Brampton? $45 million seems like pidly. You can hardly build anything with that!

    Living Downtown

It really depends on what you're looking for and what your price range is. I mean I'd love to live in One St. Thomas but really that's not going to happen anytime. Personally I think Yonge/Bloor-Wellsley area, St. Lawrence Market area, and Queen's Quay by York is good. For Yonge/Bloor...

If you could change one thing about Toronto, what would it be?

Well I'll go out on a limb here and say... Wouldn't it be great if we could plop Toronto as it is on top of Vancouver? Then we could get awesome weather, ski and golf in the same day, and also have an awesome vibrant, multicultural and happening city all in one. Failing that, I'd prefer...

    Toronto Bloor Street Neighbourhood Condos | ?m | 32s | Cresford | Northgrave

For what it's worth, when I first saw the renderings for BSN a few years ago, I thought they were going to build an ugly 905 condo (vs a normal 905 condo, yes it was that bad) downtown. With most of the building's exterior complete now though, I have to admit it turned out vastly better than I...
