It also is quite the scenic route (through the Don Valley) especially during the fall months.

I see a few problems; people may not be willing to walk the distance to get to the patios and restaurants. no mention of ferry access to the islands? people near the end of the runway may get an unexpected hair cut by the q400s.

The 400 is being built to Sudbury. A new section was opened late last year just south of Sudbury (about a 40km stretch)... and the rest of the distance between that extension and Parry Sound is either being constructed or still undergoing EA. The 404 I believe is supposed to begin construction...

Most structures are built to withstand the power of a 100-year flood. Paths aren't built to this standard however, as they are normally under-built until flooding occurs.

Perhaps Toronto West Detention could offer some "volunteers".

He cites that city vehicles such as Garbage trucks and Snowplows are damaged, and that it slows general traffic. My main concern would be that it slows the emergency services. I'm surprised that nobody has sued the city yet for endangering their lives by having the bumps. (or have they?)

!! Completely replacing existing infrastructure and building new is cheaper than simply using the existing infrastructure?! For LRT, the system would simply need overhead wires. For subway, either changing the guage (and making the entire system compatible) or new (standard guage) vehicles...

They probably are using the same idea as the hydro companies which only plow the fields when the grass becomes a fire risk.
