    Rob Ford's Toronto

Speaking of youtube, I just came across this 22 Minutes Ford Nation/Californication parody song. Decent lyrics and use of Ford footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrTMCwfIIz0 Feel free to delete if this has been posted already.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

From a purely strategic standpoint, shouldn't Rob and Doug start ignoring these stories? With eight months to go until the election, we're probably going to get dozens more of these "Ford inebriated in public" articles. Why bother with denying, explaining, apologizing, promising? Just plough...

One hour in a small, single-toilet bathroom, when he emerges he's "talking gibberish," and then this: Our mayor! And if this story isn't enough, you can just click on the one right beneath it: "Bar patrons get visit from Ford, who calls in sick the next day"

Remember when Ford wanted that community centre worker (and his manager) fired because Mammoliti photographed him with his head on his desk? What if that worker pulled 1/1000th of the crap Ford has pulled -- would Ford be demanding the death penalty?

I have no idea if Ford was drunk or not on this particular occasion, but don't we know from experience that he's a "chug" type of drinker, and that he doesn't do his drinking in the open?

As the CNN reporter who interviewed Ford told Anderson Cooper: "He has the impulse control of a young boy."

I thought the "bitch" who almost hit him was the Rob Ford fan interviewed on the CBC (someone here posted a clip a few pages back). It's strange, but with any Rob Ford story it seems impossible to pin down the details.

Agree. Compared to Lawrence Wright's exposé on Scientology (which I read recently), Crazy Town comes across poorly. Granted, Wright had more time, richer subject matter, and New Yorker researchers/editors at his disposal; still, Doolittle could have done better. Anyway, UT regulars are...

Actually, I never noticed him before Ford came along, but somehow I doubt he was ever respected. If his articles on Ford were better-written (a lot better-written), I'd almost suspect them of being from The Onion.

There's at least one reporter I don't think will be tipped off: http://torontoist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/20140206GladHand.jpg

Blatchford knew, too. I think anyone who paid the slightest attention to City Hall from 2000-2010 knew Ford would be a train wreck. Granted some of the details that have emerged since 2010 have been surprising, but the fact that Ford has been a giant shitstain as mayor is not.

Blatchford disgusted me with this column shortly after Ford won in 2010, and I suspect she's been trying to quietly step away from this turd ever since: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/rob-ford-the-peoples-choice-in-spite-of-themselves/article4390224/ Blatchford's conclusion...

Two Dougie quotes: "I've got more libraries in my area than I have Tim Hortons." And, after Atwood weighed in to defend libraries: “Well good luck to Margaret Atwood. I don’t even know her. If she walked by me, I wouldn’t have a clue who she is." The first quote is BS. But...

Thanks, I didn't know that. Did they indicate who exactly was threatening them?

I'm surprised that nothing like this (with respect to a Star reporter) has come to light before now. You have to assume if you cross the Fords, you'd better start worrying about your teeth, legs, or even life.

I don't think the Sun's published a single article mentioning the Fords today. I wonder why. I mean, "Woman accused of putting feces in husband's IV line" is pretty riveting stuff, but the woman and the feces are both in Arizona. How about some news a little closer to home?
