Zurich, the World's Best Transit City

Good luck with trying to get bi artics in Toronto, since the MTO already had a fuss with GO's dd orders, and I doubt there would be a NA company that offers bi-artics.

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

Money. TTC at the time had the money to build the Yonge and Bloor subways, so they didn't have to hang on to the political contracts because of money problems. These days theres barely enough money to keep transit infrastruture afloat, let alone subway extensions

Karen Stintz and Rob Ford’s TTC problem: there are too many riders

Sad thing was that Toronto wasn't even amalgamated until 1998

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

unless running the ECLRT from 7am-6pm weekdays with 5 active lrvs running is a better system, then be my guest

Eglinton/Allen Road Westbound North Turning Lanes

I don't think there would be enough displaced soil to just plant over top of, unless you are thinking of condos/homes with Sub Sub basement floors

What prevents us from adopting a distance-based subway fare system?

I'd rather see the reintroduction of zone fares, so its somewhat a mix of the both. Yes, people living further from their destination will have to pay more, but not so much that they resort to cars/homeless shelters, but not flat fare either. Quite simple to deal with such, as long as the...

    January 2012 Service Cuts

last time I heard, there was a shortage of actual hirees that know that working for the TTC isn't a walk in the park like its viewed from most. Probably changed, but doesn't mean that all TTC front line workers have to visit the soup kitchen daily to keep their jobs

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I think that the Keele station entrance should be located where the now defunct coffee time is along with the bus circle unless space is a problem

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

Maybe you should of written a complaint to MPP Greg Sorbera who wanted a subway in Vaughan in the first place

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

Oh please tell that to all the fixed income families far from decent transit(Rexdale, Jane&Finch), since dollar store food and clothing is optional these days...

like everyone is single and can afford $750,000 shoebox condos

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

Lower capacity increases ridership, as in 20km of LRT+ conversion brings a lot more riders than an additional 10-15ish km of subway, unless you are like one of the self entitled subway brats that want it all done in gold even though we don't have the money and refuse to settle with silver.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Seeing as an LRV carries more people per car, it would be an improvement, because its just moving the buses north and removing some, there would be some breathing room at Bloor even though the headway might increase due to excess capacity.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

You can always build Dufferin as a streetcar route until Bloor or St Clair, since it obviously crosses the E-W streetcar routes (College,Dundas, Queen, King) and it saves us from complications between TTC and standard gauge

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Unofficial Liberal victory announced, if this goes official, then ECLRT should be good to go

Narrow roads often work better than wide ones

Looks like someone doesn't want to learn from someone else. Why don't we make a Trirail so we don't look like a superioir continent in terms of transit!
