    Toronto Post Loft Condos | 25.16m | 6s | Condoman | Standard Practice

To be honest, I think some people just have a good knack for knowing what people want and how to get it done. Not everyone is business minded. I think Harry does have a lot of vision, but no focus or attention to detail to get his vision done right. Some minds just don't think that way...

I didn't say everyone, but I can tell you that Regent Park prior to this plan was primarily made up of the poorest of the poor. It was on a whole other level compared to your average subsidized housing. Crime ran rampant through the entire housing blocks. People who could afford to be in...

You're trying to argue my point with random opinions that don't even make logical sense. We're not talking about buildings on Mutual, we're talking about Regent Park. Hoe many underground parking levels were there? The idea that you're trying to imply the lowest of the low income citizens can...

Interest rates to start rising? Clearly someone agrees with me:

The fact remains that very few new deposits are being found, and consumption is increasing worldwide, not decreasing. Even with the lowered consumption by Americans, it is minimal in comparison to the increases in developing countries. This is a game of economics, and oil will continue to rise...

Politics. Middle class WASPs do not want housing projects in their backyard and they are for the most part the people who make up the burbs. On top of that you have logistical factors. Many low income people do not have cars so access to transportation is key. There are a myriad of other...

Housing is one factor amongst many that people think about when determining a place to live. And I never once mentioned the affordability of the housing itself. I meant the affordability of life in general. On top of that the new social dynamic between the lower SES residents and the buying...

You obviously didn't read what I wrote. I said the combination of many small things together will begin to push the low income residents out. RBC and Sobeys was one random example because they were in the renders above. From a sociological stand point, migration (both local and international)...

I understand that......I'm talking longer term. The combination of a whole bunch of smaller things adding up will drive those residents away. Sobeys and RBC is a tiny example. Then you have the middle class residents moving into the condo units. Then just outside of Regent Park you have...

Whatever helps you sleep at night. We'll see how many start moving back and how many actually end up staying. All that money isn't being spent to redevelop the whole area so the same crappy people can come back and ruin it all over again. For some crazy reason people argue that it's due to...

    Toronto OnePark West | ?m | 13s | Daniels | Core Architects

You can call it a conspiracy if you like, but it's not exactly hard to comprehend. This city makes its decisions based on economic factors primarily. That's what has happened. There are a lot of small things taking place which will drive these people away. Sobeys is a great little example...

    Toronto OnePark West | ?m | 13s | Daniels | Core Architects

I was making a generalization, but my point was the residents who lived there before will not be the people coming back. This was a strategic plan from the beginning to ensure they wouldn't come back. And I wasn't saying it's a bad idea either. I also think it was an excellent move that...

I guess some people haven't realized what is happening here. The silent point of the Revitalization Plan was to push away the low income people and bring in a new middle class. Regent Park takes up a lot of land. Very valuable land at that. But it was not being used to its full potential...

I think if nothing else it's quite interesting. Certainly more so than his other work and 95% of the towers going up in Toronto right now. Love the podium, would like to see more detailed 360 degree renders on the tower portion.

Very cool! Yes, despite the fact that many of the buildings on McMurrich are hideous (77 excluded - I really like it), there are some fans of architecture hanging around.

Well if you look closely at the mini preview we've gotten, this tower looks a little different. Seems like they're doing some interesting wavy patterns with the balconies, and the podium also looks a little more exciting that the typical Clewes podium. I guess we'll find out soon enough, but...

Are there any other renders floating out there besides that tiny one?

Coffee House Blues? Your fave java joint please:

There's a great little place around Main and Gerrard called the Fade In Cafe. Sort of a film themed place. Comfortably modern, really nice leather couches and chairs, plasma TV's, and free wireless :) I don't drink coffee so I can't comment on that but their Panini's are phenomenal.

    What would you build?

Something along the lines of 500 Wellington West by Freed is architecture I'd be happy to see more of.
