    Restaurant Comings & Goings

Looks like the Swiss Chalet on Yonge Street is permanently closed. They removed the signature sign yesterday.I guess they realized the renovations would be too expensive. Unless they have found a new location? A new larger "Lease" sign has been installed.

Toronto non-mall retail (Odds & Ends)

Construction crew are digging out the floor of the former Levi's on Yonge Street just north of Dundas. If you peak inside, it appears they are reconfiguring the space for something new...

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Waterfront Toronto will likely seek funding from the Ontario Government or Federal Government. Both of them have provided significant funding thus far. This project provides an extraordinary opportunity for visual improvements to the area. A key component for securing government funding...

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

from Toronto Life Magazine New Michael Kors flagship store coming to Bloor Street Michael Kors at his New York Fashion Week show last year (Image: Masaki-H) It seems that Bloor Street’s recent makeover—complete with new granite sidewalks, London plane trees and sleek, minimalist...

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

This is not new. Waterfront Toronto reported earlier that it wasn't feasible to only construct the 800 metres. The extra costs, traffic issues, TTC concerns, etc. rendered construction of the sole 800 metres impossible. This is why the organization is seeking funding for the whole strip between...

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

I'm still surprised no one has taken the former Lu Lu Lemon spot or the larger spot (on the same side) closer to Avenue Road.

    Toronto Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto | 207.86m | 53s | Graywood | Kohn Pedersen Fox

I found out today though an employee source that the Ritz-Carlton marketing / sales team is eager to have the logos installed on the building as the picture dictates. However, the challenge lies in unexpected engineering requirements. As a result, there is currently a back-and-forth consensus on...

    Toronto Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto | 207.86m | 53s | Graywood | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Right now the pool looks like something you'd see at the Holiday Inn. The pool area needs some immediate attention. By adding palm trees, paintings, and decor elements, the pool area could be vastly improved.

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

The area was a jewel up to the 1940's: beautiful homes, tree-lined streets, European style park, etc. After the 1940's, the whole area surrounding Allan Gardens - Jarvis to Dundas to Sherbourne - went downhill fast. An absolute travesty what developers and planners did to the whole area. The...

    Toronto Ryerson Student Learning Centre | 50.59m | 8s | Ryerson University | Zeidler

If the new Ryerson Learning Centre design is unveiled in March, I hope it starts construction this Spring. The area is in dire need of replenishment. Maybe Urban Behaviour will take over the former Levi's spot? Weird no 'for lease' signs are up.

Toronto non-mall retail (Odds & Ends)

Does anyone know what is replacing the Levis on Yonge street just north of Dundas Square? There is NO for lease sign. There is a building permit sign. Hopefully a high quality store will move in. The whole block is deteriorating quickly with the demolition of the Empress Hotel and Sam...

    Sobeys

Sobey's is likely going into Culture's former location across from Rexall / Second Cup. The whole wall is now vacant with advertisements teasing customers about a new tenant coming soon. Won't it seem weird to have two grocery stores in the same building? I would have preferred a Boston...

Central Waterfront Public Realm (West 8/DTAH)

Is the government expected to provide funding for the Lower Spadina to Bay Street section? In the document, it sounded like funding had not been secured - rating delays as 'high' for uncertain government funding. This project needs to start ASAP.
