The seemingly terminal decline of Tim Hortons

I miss the extra small coffee cup size option. It was usually exactly what I needed.

    Mississauga The Kith and Kindred Condominiums | ?m | 25s | Daniels | Kirkor

Are there preliminary plans accessible anywhere (like the City of Mississauga website)? I am so curious! Part of me was fantasizing about pedestrian bridges to cross these thicc stroads and bring residents safely over to the mall.

I can see this being appealing to many people because of those two items mentioned. And for those not yet willing to use their car less, they see themselves near the centre of Mississauga and close to the highway and major arterial roads. Plus, as Undead mentioned, there is so much excess demand...

    Mississauga M3 at M City | 260.29m | 77s | Rogers Real Estate | Arcadis

Are Canadian suburbs like Mississauga (over 800,000!) unique in the Western world for their population sizes and skylines? I can imagine many parallels in East Asia, but I cannot seem to think of equivalents in North America, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand. Perhaps in Latin America?

It is quite eye-opening when one compares the population of Mississauga with European cities like Dublin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, or Rotterdam and realizes just how populous and big it is for a mere “suburb”. I am curious how aware people in other provinces and countries are of Mississauga...

There is a petition going around to halt development in mid-town Oakville. Is there a way for us to counter-act it? https://www.insauga.com/stopping-oakville-midtown-development-goal-of-community-groups-petition/

    Oakville ClockWork Phase 3 at Upper Joshua Creek | ?m | 7s | Mattamy Homes | KNYMH

When I was a kid my family was one of the first to move into a new development and our neighbourhood was a giant construction site for several years (4-5) afterwards. Yes there was sound and dust and mud and I had to walk through it all to a bus stop to get to school- but we dealt with it...

So CTV News wrote an article about this project: apparently when you move into new development neighbourhood, you can hear the sound of said development still under construction. 🚧 Who would have thought...

    Kitchener TEK Tower | 144.5m | 45s | IN8 Developments | srm Architects

That‘s a good point, I guess since the cities together form one city (in essence), the dip in building height will make the boundary more noticeable from a distance when you see the whole skyline. Does the KW area have a point of higher elevation such as a hill or escapement, like Hamilton...

That sounds like a good idea! Mississauga needs more high order transit going into Toronto as well as its other neighbours.

I guess one could argue that luxury towers reduce some demand for McMansions to be built so that the wealthy have a place to park their money live. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Burlington Paradigm Condominiums (Burlington) | ?m | 18s | Molinaro Group | Graziani + Corazza

Even in Oakville, the big box plazas along highly populated corridors such as Dundas and Trafalgar are endowed with largely empty carparks. I don‘t understand the rationale for the scale of land usage for a relatively small number of stores; was it purely due to minimum parking requirements?

It looks like Simba and Mufasa* are getting a thrill out of watching the tower grow! *it occurred to me after my post that my autocorrect put Samba and Mustafa 😅😂 Sounds like some cheap rip off version - The Lyon King.
