It is cause the lines didn't open, they got the money to improve service. Let's hope next year's budget is better

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Especially when it’s a crappy presentation. Other parts of the world would at least sweep all the rocks and dirt from the side of the path. Some colours would be a nice touch.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I guess it is much easier with GPS these days. Reading it from a provincial map back in the 80s wouldn't be as easy. Destinations were designed for navigation till Mike Harris destroyed the system.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Except by removing the 115 designation, it makes it more difficult to navigate. You'll see 35 on the map and 407 connecting to it. You'll tell them to stay on the 35 so it becomes the 407 eastbound. With the 115 designation, you simply tell anyone to follow 115 from the 401 to Peterborough.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Look no further than the 427. Plenty of weaving and RIRO ramps on the collectors. It's quite difficult to navigate for unfamiliar drivers.

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

The trick was to spot the length of the queue when coming down the ramp. Make a lane change to the right and a quick manoeuvre onto Logan if clear and use Commissioners to get on Carlaw. Then to avoid lengthy delays on Carlaw cause everyone is making a left to Eastern those days, you either...

Imagine what one operator had a bad case of diarrhea would do to the line.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The problem with Dupont St is all the condo and road work are popping up creating lane closures making the road very difficult to transverse. Buses are often late and large gaps are created driving riders to opt for a direct connect to the subway instead. It also makes less sense to use such a...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

If you look at this topographic map: https://en-ca.topographic-map.com/map-kcz57/Toronto/?center=43.68408%2C-79.51082&zoom=16 Scarlett Rd is a good 8-10m above the river. The portal is a good 20m above the river. If it's going to flood, the reason would be a major hurricane stalled over the GTA...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The term light rail is just a concept which differs vastly with different implementations. It's just a modernization of streetcars adopted for faster travel. It is the North American implementation of German Stadtbahn systems. Line 5 is light rail cause the technology isn't design for linking...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Line 2 trains used to be able to reach over 90 km/h eastbound towards Old Mill Station as trains head downhill till they enforced the speed.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

It's the way how the project is delivered. If tunnelling and station excavation occurred at the same time like every other project in the work including the Sheppard subway and TYSSE, it could been a 2015 start and we are in the 8th year. Instead they came up with this stupid delivery method to...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Demands on this route is very local. A packed full bus at Wilson can have plenty of seats south of Eglinton. It shows that low income riders stay in their neighbourhood. The split is introduced to reallocate service to North of Eglinton. Jane South will have a wider headway.

Too many lefties that support this lives on or this crap would have ended long ago. Clearly if someone did some economic analysis, they can optimize when to overhaul and when to replace.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

There is a streetcar route shortage for sure. They need to hurry up and operate more lines.

The biggest problem is bus layovers not boarding platforms. If you only go north to St Clair, you can board any northbound buses. The 41 Keele is a very slow route and can take up to half an hour to get to Lawrence. Most people who need to go half way through the route would have used the 52...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The problem is the single-occupant automobile making a left from Weston to Lawrence in front while a 89 loads on the right blocks the entire roadway as there isn't a dedicated left turn lane. It is also true on Lawrence eastbound holding up traffic for an entire light cycle. However, Lawrence...
