Well, it is good that the RFQ is structured that way. I missed that part. Hopefully the response from industry is good. Until the proponents respond to the RFP, we don't really know what changes they may propose. Also, this is a Government that makes a lot of empty promises, so let's see what...

Isn't that a bit of an assumption? Right now, I would assume that riders between the three major cities are providing a huge amount of the revenue. When that revenue is lost, and in the hands of the consortium, the subsidy rate for the Lakeshore route will look a lot worse. Will the government...

Hoverlink - Toronto to Niagara Hovercraft service starting 2023

Working on the plan for "ten years", and the timeline is still longer than anticipated? 😂

Roads: Ambassador & Gordie Howe Bridges

Wow, one hell of a skip hoist to ride.

    Oakville Trafalgar Lands (Oakville) | ?m | 25s | IO + Argo

Are you joking? At best they should provide enhanced bus services. There is no financial justification for a LRT here. The Trafalgar road rebuild without providing infrastructure for a BRT-like service was a dumb decision. "Uptown" has been under construction for ten years and it is nowhere...

    Oakville Trafalgar Lands (Oakville) | ?m | 25s | IO + Argo

This will be 100% car dependent - it won't spark rapid transit usage in Oakville. They have drawn a Trafalgar LRT like this is a real thing - it's not. The daily ridership of all of Oakville transit is probably not even 10,000 - not sure how the town can support a LRT.

    Planned Sprawl in the GTA

Not true at all, every union I work with is struggling to find people. Most of the union's know they are at the start of a retirement apocalypse, and if they don't hire new blood, they will not have anyone paying into the pension any longer.

    Toronto Eaton Centre (Ongoing Renewal) | ?m | ?s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

Right above Nordstrom is leased to BMO - building a tower there would certainly impact their space.

Totally agree. But to Therme, there is only one location that is suitable because it comes with $450MM worth of government subsidies.

Perhaps the Province could try to be competent and provide proper notice when it should have been obvious to them ? The cost also depends on the size of boat, so boats between 20-30 feet with dock fees @ $115/ft would be $2,300-$3,450 for the summer season (May to October). OP doesn't offer...

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

The fact that Mattamy can simply sell a home for 16-20% less should make everyone question the developer/industry mantra that high costs are all due to regulations, fees, Greenbelt, etc. Developers are scum.

    Canadian Tire

The amount of stock was over the top. There was a huge amount of tables and chairs. A dozen of each size of table, dozens upon dozens of different folding chairs. Stacks of patio chairs. I'm not sure how people are buying these and getting them back to their places - are they walking out the...

There is something seriously wrong with that store. We went in this week to buy some large bulky items for a site office - folding tables, chairs, etc. We parked in the parkade and tried to access it that way, but it is still closed. The store has zero carts, despite selling thousands of bulky...

    Toronto BMO Field Renovations | ?m | ?s | MLSE | Gensler

Well, that doesn't necessarily speak to the merit of that. If you were an executive would you rather an all expenses paid trip to Europe or Toronto? Given the sales figures for the arena, it's hard to argue with the success and it shouldn't be a surprise that people come to tour the operations.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

We spent $1.7B plus on this system, then extended the contract of Accenture in a sole-sourced bid for hundreds of millions more, and it just goes on and on. I guess we got our money's worth.

Your post made zero sense. Cars were not a better option for travel at that time, as the 401 was completely closed. Other adjacent roads likely in horrible condition.

In many cases, people often use the 'amateur' label to discredit criticism from the general public that is perfectly valid. If that wasn't your intention, that is fair, but keep in mind that it can come across that way.

I don't think I expect relief crews to get through hell without any issue. That isn't what I am saying at all. The train was trapped in Cobourg for crying out loud, not in the bush, for something like twenty hours. Probably less than 5 km from Cobourg station. I don't need to be a professional...

If there is a staff shortage around the holidays because of staff on vacation, or not scheduled at all, that that is evidence of management that doesn't care truly about the service. Clearly someone approved those schedules and vacation requests. As you said, transportation employees should...

Oh, they didn't have time? Come on. This train was sitting a few kilometres from Cobourg station, but nobody had time to deal with a train full of stranded passengers? It is not like this was a remote location. This should never have gone on for as long as it did.
