    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

Raccoons used to come out in the early morning on the Esplanade, not so much now, first the hostel and it's clients threw the street into chaos now all the construction all the time has meant they just don't bother. Skunks have terrible eye sight, poor blighters, but they have always been...

The Y will open some of it's pools next week, 9 August.

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

What I object to is the pointlessness of the argument. Of all the things that need sorting in this city the name of a street that has existed for more than a century should be way down on the list. My question is why now? What is happening behind the scenes that prioritizes this? It's weird.

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

Why do you think they aren't showering him with praise like they have done for the female athletes? He's from London, ON and seems to be quite accomplished and successful in his field. Very impressive feat!

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

Why not something that exists across the city? Pigeon Shit West and Pigeon Shit East. "Meet me at Pigeon Shit and Parliament"?

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

Just heard my neighbour is in Calgary visiting his giant herd of a family, do I avoid him when he comes home? I love the phrase Florida of Canada, it's so accurate.

Downtown Grocery Store List (current + proposed)

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee so excited! Of course it will not compare to heading down Cherry Street and getting some cheap Chinese food for dinner but it is nice they are trying to maintain a place downtown, or rather that Loblaws is permitting them to be downtown.

    Toronto Ontario Place | ?m | ?s | Infrastructure ON

If they really wanted it to be year round how will they deal with snow removal? Plenty of Scandanavian countries have year round public spaces but it seems that winter time is left off the drawing board. The whole thing is very strange, seems deliberately over blown. Mark Saunders? How did...

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

Yes I am going to repeat myself - slavery was abolished. Those people nearly 200 years ago decided it wasn't a good thing. Those supposedly all-powerful white men failed to continue slavery. Dundas Street Toronto Canada is more than some random old colonial hack, it is what it is because of...

    Toronto Ontario Place | ?m | ?s | Infrastructure ON

I am only hoping this isn't Ford reverting to type and his hatred for Toronto coming to the fore again. I had hoped he had matured. I do think there might be a chance an outsider would come up with something new and interesting, they don't have the burden of familiarity.

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

Moss Park should be fun, all the agitators will have had a good night's rest and be rarin' to go. As for the photographers, if you get in the cops way they will knock you back, so you know, don't get in the way. My guess is the cops know the shyte stirrers on sight now. I just want the park...

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

I'm just wondering how 2 multi-national entities with billions between them suggest ordinary people or even accomplished athletes should risk their health so the event can go ahead.

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

How is it the IOC thinks it's a good idea to have a major international sporting event in the middle of a pandemic? In the same breath they slam "wealthy" (Western?) countries for not helping with the vaccine - which was developed in the West? Could the message be anymore muddled? How is it...

Post your pictures of Toronto here!

First time posting pictures. One of my most treasured possessions - 1927 Postcard book from Toronto, bought in -wait for it- Covent Garden Market London England for a pound coin in the 1980's.

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

It's so good to see people out, just because it is normal. A lot of them didn't have masks on but everyone was very respectful. Fingers crossed. St Lawrence is one of the few places in the city you can loiter without too much judgement, having the opportunity to just sit and talk is so welcome.

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

Finally got my first shot, Moderna, walk in no waiting, the only side effect is sore arm. They told me I can have 2nd shot in 4 weeks.

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

Exactly. For the most part it is whites who are agonizing over it without realising they are still painting "minorities" as one-dimensional beings. Dr Banting did not say I want to do good for white people. Queen Victoria did not say I rule for white people. The racism of today is...

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

Everyone drank back then, it was safer than water, no one condemns the endless coffee drinking that people do nowadays. I am dreading to think that this internet led renaming may end up with something incredibly stupid.

    Proposed renaming of Dundas Street

Why not name these streets after workers killed on the job or in construction? I'm tossing this out there because Kelowna just had loss of life linked to cranes and you know until the ethnicity of the dead is known no media outlet is going to bother with the same coverage as say, a condo...
