    Toronto 45 The Esplanade | 130.85m | 39s | Republic | Arcadis

What they could do is just donate the site to the city in exchange for another unused city site, but that might take too much creativity. Think of the tax credits! Think of the opportunity! It's sad. Just tear it down like an old Woolworths. Sad.

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

Okay, my brain is full. The public are just going to have to go thru this, like WWII where info was questionable in real time for the general public but still they carried on for SIX god blessed years. It's a disease, we are just going to have to lump it. We have a few anti-vaxxers in my...

    Toronto 45 The Esplanade | 130.85m | 39s | Republic | Arcadis

I wondered what Novotel would do with this after shelter use (city money) went. They can't use it as a hotel again, not without major reconstruction. It's kind of sad, it was an elegant and understated presence in the neighbourhood. Another thing we can blame covid for. ugh.

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

We now have the various lobbying groups insisting on more government money. I'm reminded that when the economy went from horse power to machine power those who had economic interests in the horse trade were not given any support, there was no lobbying for the rights of stable owners, horse...

Toronto St Lawrence Market North | 25.3m | 5s | City of Toronto | Rogers Stirk Harbour

Is this the most long-winded and torturous build in the city?

Post your pictures of Toronto here!

Britain's Most Boring Man has produced his calendar for 2022 - Benches of Redditch (and surrounding area). It's not even Birmingham and they have their own calendar! What sort of calendar would put Toronto on the map? Parking Instruction Signs? Public Domain Refuse Containers (garbage cans)...

    2022 Municipal Election: Council Races

Just got a call from polling firm, last question was if John Tory did not run who would you vote for, choices were Keesemat (?), Adam Vaughan and councillors Michael Ford Michael Thompson, Ana Bailo (?), Mike Layton, Denzil Minangwong, Josh Matou or none of the above. Testing the waters? If...

    St Lawrence Market

I am loathe to engage again but I feel that market residents need to know what is happening in our neighbourhood. On Fri 12 Nov approx 2:55pm an SUV travelled along the west bound lanes of Front St E in the wrong direction. He smashed into 2 cars (another SUV and a taxi) before coming to rest...

    St Lawrence Market

The sidewalk on the south side of the Esplanade between Church St and the Novotel is finally accessible. Shame it's not safe to walk around the neighbourhood anymore. Our building had another break in at the weekend despite Senior Safety Zone signs.

I would love to live in Halifax, love the snow and ice. It's not the place to age if you are alone tho.

Toronto St Lawrence Market North | 25.3m | 5s | City of Toronto | Rogers Stirk Harbour

Mailbox contained info session details. Attendees select one of 3 designs. I wonder if this means the North Market is going to be completed within the forseeable future, the park improvements due to be completed in fall 2023 (12 mos construction timeline) Thu 18 Nov, 3 timeslots...

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

I think this might be a clear sign that he is stepping down. It's part of his mania, his first term was feminism, the second was first nations. The race fetish is not very productive or popular.

    Mayor John Tory's Toronto

The existing models don't work, they were established from smaller communities and simply added to instead of re-written. The cities have very different issues than smaller communities - development, housing, poverty, international connections, migration (local and otherwise). Honestly is...

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

The new variant is hard on the young. I had c*v*d in Nov, high fever and congestion (bp & fever monitoring), saw it thru at home but it was hard. Fingers crossed for your friend. People do get thru it.

I like that they are retaining the little walk-through.

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

There was a fire at the Novotel (Esplanade) yesterday, God only knows it will cost to give it back in good shape. Millions and millions spent to keep them safe but they can't look after themselves. Wonder how many shelter users are vaccinated.

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

I hear ya! I'm just starting to feel some sort of normal. Oddly it's the traffic and week-day crowds that are comforting now. Just wish TD would shut that foul rooftop logo light off, who are they trying to impress - aliens in the next galaxy?
