Site plan approval submitted yesterday to relocate Oriole GO Station to 2760 Old Leslie Street. This is the location of the TTC Leslie Station Parking Lot. The site is located adjacent to the bus terminal entrance of Leslie Subway Station which would greatly improve the TTC/GO connection.
Documents are posted. The tower is setback less than 3m from the eastern property line, and only 1.5m from the Queen Street heritage facades. I like that they are only proposing 28 resident parking spaces for 356 units though!
It appears this application is for 2 adjacent lots immediately north of the surface parking lot. The parking lot is also undergoing a study/ consultation process to determine its future use, which may include housing.
By my approximation, the CR portion of the property is about 50 metres deep. If the 45 degree angular plane was measured from the R zone, about 15 storeys would fit beneath it. However I suspect the proposal will be more in the upper mid-rise range.
I'm interested to see if that changes in the settlement. I can't imagine the City would accept the minimal amount of office space initially proposed when the North York Centre Secondary Plan states that the property should be 100% office.
It's weird that block 1 is isolated from the rest of phase 3. I don't recall seeing any plans for the building that is slated to built at Parliament and Gerrard. Has anyone else seen plans fo that corner?
In the slide deck for the full business case it shows Hamilton GO Centre as having two-way all-day service, but if you look at pages 50 and 51 of the full business case report here it appears the station has been dropped.
Really unfortunate this will result in the parking driveway fronting on Mount Pleasant. The two buildings with similar parking driveways on the west side of the street are not good for pedestrians.
These properties were included in the Historic Yonge HCD interim demolition ban. I wonder if that will affect the project if it needs to be approved again because of the additional property.
