I like the contrast of these glass towers in the area however, I would prefer if this proposal came down in height. I don't think its necessary to replicate the historic buildings but I do agree that this area deserves more than a bland podium design. *fingers crossed*

Tommy Hilfiger next to the Apple Store is closing.

Toronto non-mall retail (Odds & Ends)

211 Yonge is for lease. Woohoo!! Such potential with this space. I've always felt it deserved better than what's currently going on in it. Would make a nice Uniqlo. http://www.cbre.ca/o/torontodt/AssetLibrary/EdmisonWanzelWoodward-ReportApril2014.pdf

Will there be a digital billboard at the yonge and bloor corner? I can't remember where I came across the application for it. It seems like such overkill but we'll see...

I believe a member on this forum mentioned that TD was opening here. Flagship Apple Stores offer a little more for the communities they serve. This includes musical events, interviews with film directors/actors, presentations from artists, business workshops, and kids camps. The crazy part...

There has been two shootings in the past few months... Closer to the Market Wharf area of all places... I walk along the Esplanade nearly every day and now I consciously avoid it in the afternoons/late night. I know that things can happen anywhere but there just seems to be too much going on...

I was in the park today and remembered this post so I decided to peek and see if it was all still there... and it is.

Whoa relax... I didn't mean it that way. I recognize that there's limited amount of space and in my opinion Winners isn't the most exciting retailer.

It's unfortunate that the Winners is expanding and not vacating.

    Apple Store

Johnny, I can assure you 100% that there isn't a flagship Apple store in Canada at this time. Flagship Apple stores are very few. People often mistake what Apple calls "high profile" for Flagship. Not sure if Montreal is high profile. An example I have for you is Lincoln Park in Chicago is a...

    Apple Store

The Apple store in Montreal isn't a flagship store. I can't imagine these spaces would sit vacant for too long. I bet it's just a matter of the leases running up. Look at how the Nike space transitioned into construction for J.Crew and Company.

Hey MetroMan did you ever get a response?

I tried searching online for a completion date, most sites list December 2014... Does that seem right with the current status of construction? I hope the retail here doesn't turn out like Aura. There's incredible opportunity with this location.

So many renters breaking their rental agreement and leaving early.

Alistriwen if you don't mind me asking what building is this?

    Square One Shopping Centre

I heard Microsoft is opening in the old Mexx spot. I wonder if Apple will expand its Square One location as they've done in similar situations in the US.

It looks like Roots may not be the only retailer leaving 100 Bloor. http://100bloor.com/images/100BloorOverview.pdf
