Where is Anthropologie on the food chain in terms of prices and market? Are they a full-blown luxury line (Armani, Chanel, ect.)? Mid-scale (Ann Taylor)?

Is Bang & Olufsen moving to a new space or are they leaving the GTA market?

I'm interested to see what they do. Will the bring in a celebrity chef outpost (which they seem to been doing quite a bit recently) or keep it in house. With such a large building and a lot of rooms/condos, I wonder if they have a couple of dining options.

News on retail chains (was: New Mall Retail)

Don't luxury retailers (like Burberry and Tiffany) tend to all want to be at the same location (Bloor/Yorkville)? You usually don't see luxury brands apart when it comes to location.

I don't know why, but the "everyday" items are strange (such as Coke, ect.) in a store like this. I'm sure as time goes on and he gets a feel for his consumers, Mark will make adjustments.

Beautiful bird. Any other airlines planning on using a 380 into Toronto?

I do agree with you. I just know those are the arguments that are tossed out. It would be great if Canada would allow for more open skies agreements. It would benefit Canada and Toronto. If they did allow for an open skies agreement with UAE, and with Emirates Airlines stating they want to go...

    Emirates A380 @ CYYZ on June 1st, 3:45pm

One of the complaints that the UAE airlines have against them is low airport fees and taxes at airports like Dubai and government ownership (and we know how deep the pockets run in the Middle East).

More money than brains? The top airlines in the Pacific Rim are more profitable than the US airlines.

Do you think we'll see brands like Giorgio Armani (the main brand), Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Valentino, Chopard, ect. come soon? Doesn't Toronto sell a high amount of luxury cars (including the exotic, expensive brands like Ferrari, Bentley, ect.) in comparsion to other cities of similar size?

Is this where Dior could be going? As for the "Giorgio" question, isn't that a rather small space (around 1,500 sf)? I believe the front of the Hazelton Hotel was always that way.

News on retail chains (was: New Mall Retail)

Looks like Tiffany & Co. is going to add a second, and rather large, boutique in Toronto at Yorkdale. http://www.torontobusinesstimes.com/EmailArticle/66849

What do you consider the big corporate chains? Aren't the high-designer brands taking up more space, pushing the big, mid-level chains out?

How large is the NOIR space? I'm guessing that will be an attractive space for a designer, luxury retailer. Interesting articles I have. The first is on the new Prada boutique: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20090404.HOTSHOP04/TPStory/Entertainment The other is on...

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

How much retail space will be provided? I wonder if they are going after the luxury brands that can't get suitable space on Bloor.

We all need a lil' bit of Yorkville lovin'...

I know this thread is two years old but these are some amazing pictures. Hopefully we can see some new ones now with all the changes.

So is Burberry (and it sounds like it will be a rather large Burberry boutique) is taking over the space, and the 146 location (what was the old store?) that housed Aveda (are they closing or re-locating)? I saw on the Bloor Street thread that the Williams-Sonoma space at 100 Bloor is closed...
